How to Cut, Copy, Paste the MEMO of a transaction into another transaction?

I need the ability to Cut, Copy, Paste the MEMO of a transaction so I can add it to another transaction in the same register or another register, without copying the whole transaction.

I tried Ctrl C and Ctrl V. Does not work.

Quicken defaults to non-standard keyboard shortcuts. Go to Edit > Preferences > Setup to change.

    Hello @Earthquick,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about this issue.  I'm sorry to hear you're running into this problem. If the keyboard shortcuts aren't working, please check Edit>Preferences>Setup and make sure you have Windows standard selected for keyboard mappings.

    Thank you.

  • Ctrl C and Ctrl V works for me as long as I hightlight the text in the memo field. If you click in the field, but don't highlight the full text it won't work.

When I use Ctrl C to copy then try to paste with Ctrl V, I get the message:

    Void the currently selected transaction(s)?

    just tried it - R47.15 -

go to transaction - click into the Memo field - (highlights all text and turns blue)
Ctrl-C … then go to target transaction - click into Memo field
    Ctrl-V and …. done -

Have you enabled the settings in Quicken which allow for memorization and quick retrieval of previously used transactions? See image below.

If you have, instead of trying to Copy and Paste please do this:

    • make sure you have memorized the old transaction that you are trying to copy: select old transaction, press CTRL-M
    • Go to the register's new transaction line and start creating a new transaction: Put in the date. Tab to the Description field and begin typing the first few letters of the Payee Name, e.g., "amaz". Locate the desired transaction in the popup list and mouse-click on it.
    • You now have a complete copy of the old transaction in the new transaction line.
    • Make changes as needed and Save the new transaction.
