American Express Savings, Unable to Add (QMac)

I am having the same problem. Recently AMEX Savings asked me to create new User/PW credentials. I am able to to use these new credentials to successfully login into my AMEX Savings account in Safari and on my iPhone. However, Quicken is no longer able to access my Balance and Transaction information, it thinks I am mistyping my new AMEX credentials. Prior to the new AMEX credentials everything worked perfectly. I spend hours on the phone with Quicken support and was told that no one else reported this problem. I finally called up AMEX Savings and they claim that they no longer support Quicken, why doesn't Quicken know any of this?0

I am still unable to connect and for the record I am using Quicken for MAC NOT for windows0

When I try to add an Amex Savings account in Quicken for Mac by selecting "American Express" as the financial institution (NOT "Banking" or "Banking FSB") Quicken opens an AMEX page in my web browser where I'm asked to enter my new AMEX credentials. After doing so, AMEX sends me a one time PW via text which I enter into the browser. After that I get the following message in my browser (1st image).
When I hit the Return to Quicken button I get the following message in Quicken (2nd image).
So it seems that in order for Quicken to be to connect to AMEX Savings I need to somehow enter the one time AMEX password into Quicken and there is something broken between Quicken and AMEX. I'm wondering if someone from Quicken is reading this or if I am wasting my time because this information is going into a black hole.0 -
I am having the same problem after I was required to update my AMEX credentials (User name AND password) on the Amex website. Quicken support told me Im the only person having this problem.

Hello @JB20,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about this issue. I'm sorry to hear you're running into this problem. Was the account previously connected and able to update? Do you have multiple User IDs with American Express?
Please backup your Quicken file, go to Accounts>Hide and Show Accounts, and review to see if there are any inactive or closed American Express accounts that are still trying to connect (if you see a financial institution name in the Financial Institution column, that means Quicken thinks the account is connected and will try to update it when you update your accounts).
If there are any inactive or closed accounts, please close them or disconnect them as appropriate, then try adding your account again to see if the issue is resolved.
Thank you.

Kristina, I was previously able to connect these 2 AMEX accounts to Quicken before I updated my AMEX Savings credentials (Username and PW) as prompted by AMEX. There are no hidden AMEX accounts. I do have two SEPARATE AMEX Savings accounts that I keep for my mother with different AMEX logins credential that were NOT updated. These two separate accounts still connect to Quicken. I disconnected these 2 separate accounts to see if that would allow Quicken to connect to AMEX but that did NOT work.0
