When I see this, I get the feeling that this is something I should stay away from for fear it will change all I have worked so hard to keep. I would really like to understand this.
The Sanitize option is there to protect your privacy by removing your personal information (passwords, credentials for bank accounts, etc.).
This file can then be sent to Quicken Support for troubleshooting.
You only need to create a sanitized file if Quicken support requests it. There is no need to create one otherwise.
Because of the removal of some data, you do not want to open this file yourself - let Quicken support do that.
Finally, the sanitized data file created has the name: Sanitized_(name).zip, where (name) is the name of your data file.
Hello @SambaKMom,
Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community with this question.
I suggest reviewing these threads where Super Users discuss sanitized data files, here and here. You may also review this FAQ that also discusses sanitized data files.
I hope this helps!
