Issue with Quicken closing by itself

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue—I usually leave Quicken running on my desktop and come back to it throughout the day. Lately (it seems to be happening more with the R51.10 release) Quicken just seems to close/disappear without any messages. It's happened in the past a handful of times, but it seems a lot more frequent.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? It's annoying more than anything else—

I have also been encountering this problem for about 1-2 weeks. Window will close for no reason. I don't even have to be doing anything in Quicken and it will close by itself. Have not reported it yet, but you can add my name to the list of affected users.

It started happening about 1-2 weeks ago. It happens (occasionally) with the current version R51.10 Build 27.1.51.10. It may have happened with the prior version, but not sure.
There are no error codes or messages…Quicken just terminates as though clicking on the X in the upper-right window, or selecting the File, Exit option. The computer itself is not affected…it does NOT go into Sleep mode nor Shutdown.

    I am using Windows 10 PRO 64-bit.

@binary512 Thank you for those details—we're investigating this issue to determine the root cause.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, we would very much appreciate a reply here with your experience, including your OS and the current release version of Quicken you're using.

    Thanks—

    Hello @binary512,

Thank you for providing more information.

To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

Please let me know how this goes!

    -Quicken Jasmine

After doing a Validate & Repair (No errors found), the result is inconclusive. Have not had any occurrences of program terminating abnormally since…still testing.

Just adding my comment to those who have already commented.

Running Windows 11. All updates are installed.

Running current version of Quicken Deluxe.

Quicken freezes during One step update. When I click on the X to close the update window, the screen behind the open window turns black, Quicken crashes, and error message is created and sent to Microsoft.
