Wrong account (Q Mac)

Quicken and Apple did updates mid February. I have about twenty accounts at Citibank. On one account at Citibank the transactions came up at zero transactions. Given that I don't always review all downloads I did not realized until now that nothing has downloaded since the changes. I've spent a couple of days trying to figure out the problem. I found it. Somehow the downloads from a closed account connected to the account I was working with. It changed the account number. That's why it was always zero. How do I reconnect Quicken to the correct account at Citibank? I don't want to lose all the transactions from the correct account.

Hello @billmm,
Thank you for reaching out to the Quicken Community, though I do apologize that you are experiencing this issue.
Before I can further assist you, I require some more information. What is your connection method with CitiBank? You can see the connection method by navigating to Settings > Downloads > Connection Type. When did you first notice this issue? After a recent update? If so, which update? Do you receive any error codes or messages?
I look forward to your response.

Hi Jasmine.
I opened Quicken, went to settings and the window opened. There is nothing on the pull down menu that is Downloads. The menu consists of General, Register, Sidebar, Budgets, Security, Connected Services, Mobile Web and Alerts, and Messages and Offers. There is no selection in any of the aforementioned for Downloads or Connection Type.
I signed on to my Citibank accounts and went to their settings. The three choices: Accounts, Security and Alerts had not options for Downloads or Connection Type.
I noticed the issue around the 26th of July. I had connected and downloaded a couple of times but did not work on any files and add the details: tags, categories, etc…
Since my posting I have reconnected to the correct account. I don't think I could do it again. However I now have some duplicate accounts. The first ones go back thirty odd years ago and the new ones have the transactions from the last month or so. Is there a way to merge two of the same name? Quicken added a 2 to the right of the name of the account for the newer version.
It is all quite frustrating.

@billmm You are describing Quicken > Settings. What Jasmine was asking you for is the settings in your problematic Citibank account. That is, click on the account in the left sidebar, then click Accounts > Settings (or the Settings icon in the lower right menu bar). the Account settings window has tabs for Details, Downloads, Bill Pay, and Display Options. Clicking the Downloads tab will display your Connection Type for this account.

Hi Jacobs. Thank you for your input. I have gone to Citibank, logged in and selected Accounts. There is no where in any pulldown menu that is labeled settings. I then selected the particular account and searched the page again with no luck. I went to Citi's "How can we help?" tab and searched download settings, download quicken format and download. It gives me a choice in what format I choose but does not enable me to see what was originally selected. Thanks for the suggestions.

Sorry, you misunderstood. I was talking about your Citibank account IN QUICKEN. Not on the bank’s website. So… in Quicken, click on your Citibank account in the left sidebar, then click Settings in the bottom menu bar on the far right (or select Accounts > Settings).

I found it. Thank you. It took some doing but I did disconnect from every account and then reestablished all the connections. Unfortunately I ended up with a couple of duplicate accounts. I'll use both accounts to finish out the year and then just use the new ones from now on.
Thank you for your guidance.

Unfortunately I ended up with a couple of duplicate accounts.
Please review the old and the new accounts. Eliminate duplicate transactions (which would impact your net worth and budget) so that you have a clean cut-over between the old and the new register. Zero out the balance in the old register and ensure that the new register's Opening Balance is set correctly, to allow reconciling your register to a statement.
