Better 2FA solutions available? (second attempt)

Last month I asked:

Quicken Web uses rather insecure solutions for 2FA (phone, email, SMS) which can easily be spoofed. Are more sophisticated and secure 2FA options available, such as software tokens (TOTF)?

I received the response:

The 2FA requirements come directly from the financial institutions, Quicken does not have any access to this.

This makes no sense. Please have someone with web security knowledge respond. And please leave the discussion open, since this is a critically important topic.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community with your question.

Unfortunately, Quicken on the Web does not currently offer the 2-factor authentication you seek. Therefore, I'd like to refer you to this active Idea post regarding this topic instead which is currently marked as Under Consideration.

Please feel free to add your own vote as well a comment with additional details if it is not already included in the original Idea post.

Our Development and Product teams frequently use our idea posts in order to improve Quicken and implement new features requested by customers.

    I hope this helps!
