I set up a direct connect to Wells Fargo Advisors. Quicken found the account number just fine but no transactions or positions are downloading. Quicken support chat told me it was the fault of Wells but not sure how since the connection is good.
Is anyone else experiencing this and perhaps found a resolution?
Hello @JustJayC,
If you are not able to download transactions, balances, details, etc. from your financial institution, this could be due to an issue with the connection to the financial institution's servers.
Let’s try a few troubleshooting steps for this issue—these steps should resolve things for you, but if not, please come back and post more about your experience so we can investigate.
First, backup your Quicken file.
I suggest deactivating the Wells Fargo Advisors account(s) and then reactivating them. However, before doing so, I do recommend saving a backup of your data file first (just in case). Then, please check and make sure you do not have any hidden accounts that may be connected to this financial institution.
After that, please follow the troubleshooting instructions below.
OK, I did all the steps and added the account again. After that, I initiated a download but the same behavior happened. It says 'update successful' with no error messages but there are no balances or positions downloaded. I verified the account number is correct and my credentials were accepted by Wells Fargo Advisors. I tried updating via the button twice more and same thing: no errors and no data.
Thank you for your reply,
The next step is to verify that you have the Investment Tracking Method set to Detailed rather than Simple (some financial institutions do not send the information in a format that is compatible with Simple tracking). To do that, first click on the account to select it. Then, go up to Accounts>Settings, and on the details tab, look for the Investment Tracking Method section. Make sure that Detailed is selected.
I hope this helps!
For some reason, when I went in today and did the update it actually pulled the information down with no issues. Not sure why - maybe it just needed to think about things overnight 😀
