Investment accounts show wrong numbers when downloaded
I am having trouble with correct download of investment accounts. The numbers are completely off. The securities value, the cash balance and the total market value are completely off. And it doesn't let me fix them.
It is the problem with all my investment accounts

Hello @Scientific user,
Are these accounts with the same financial institution or different ones? What is the financial institution?
Thanks!

I’m having the same problem. According to Quicken we have over $27 million dollars at Merrill Edge. The balances were correct on Friday and the problem started when I updated accounts on Saturday. I’ve deleted the accounts and set them up again as new accounts (twice). When the Quicken screen comes up to “add” the accounts, the balances are correct. When I click “Finish”, I’m millions of dollars richer. Only…. NOT! It seems to me this is a quicken problem, since the correct balance was obviously offered to Quicken by Merrill.

Adding some detail here might actually shed some light. Saying the numbers are "off" in and of itself really doesn't convey much useful information.
The numbers could be off for an long list of reasons. Is the problem associated with bad Quote/Price figures? Have duplicate transactions been downloaded, or historic transactions deleted? Are the share balances held by the broker being reported improperly and you're allowing Placeholders to be posted to the Accounts? Has Quicken asked about "new" securities reported in the downloads?

I should have noted that I use the Mac version of Quicken. Merrill Edge does not support detailed investment tracking. I’m new to the way the accounts are set up in the Mac version—far different from the Windows Quicken. I have yet to find any way I can change, add, or delete transactions. Since I deleted the accounts completely from Quicken and started fresh adding them I don’t see how any of the things like placeholders or share balances are changing between the “add accounts” screen and the result after I hit “finish”.

Mac version of quicken. Same problem here:
What is happening is for fixed investments like bonds. If I have $1,000 of bonds, it is showing exactly 100x that amount ($100,000 of bonds).
This is happening with bonds, CDs, and other instruments that Merrill Edge categorizes in its "Fixed Investment" category.
I believe this is the problem others are having.
