Fidelity NetBenefits stopped syncing transactions

Since Nov 30, 2023 Quicken will update my holdings prices in my Fidelity 401K but will no longer update transactions within the account. I am not having any problems with my Vanguard account or any bank or credit card accounts for getting new transactions. I am running Build 27.1.53.26 of Quicken Premier for Windows. I'm not getting any errors during syncs or otherwise. It's just my holdings in Quicken for my 401K have stagnated while there have been additions to my 401K. Any ideas on the issue?

    Hello @EricT7,

This sounds like there is an issue with the connection between Fidelity NetBenefits and Quicken.

If you haven't already, I suggest you try to deactivate all accounts for this financial institution, then force Quicken to "discover" all available accounts and see if this will help resolve it. Please, follow the instructions below in order to do so. It is recommended to save a backup before proceeding.

    1. Open the Account List in Quicken (Tools > Account List OR Ctrl + A)
    2. If present, select the Show Hidden Accounts checkbox at the bottom of the Account List
    3. Edit each account with this financial institution to Deactivate (or Remove From One Step Update) on the Online Services tab
    4. Click on the General tab and remove any info displayed in the Financial Institution, and Account/Routing Number fields. Note: The account must be deactivated first before these fields can be edited.
    5. When finished, close the Account List
    6. Close, then re-open Quicken
    7. Navigate to Tools > Add Account
    8. Walkthrough this process as if you were going to add a new account, providing the login credentials and answering any security questions/processes presented until you reach the screen where Quicken displays the Accounts Discovered at the financial institution
    9. Very carefully LINK each of the found accounts to the appropriate account you already have set up in Quicken.

Once that is done, see if the issue still continues to persist.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you Jasmine. Unfortunately, this did not work. My holdings are still off and have been since Nov30. My balance is off as a result. Any other suggestions?

There is a big difference between your holdings being off and currently not being able to download transactions. Fidelity did have a problem for about a month or with NetBenefits. They eventually got it fixed, but that isn't to say that all the "missing" transactions were properly downloaded after it started again.

So, are your new transactions downloading or not?

If the problem is just missing transactions here is something that might help you getting them, but ultimately you might have to fill in the missing transactions manually.

    Tools → Online Center

Select Fidelity for the Financial institution.

Hold down Ctrl + Shift and select Contact Info

    Select the correct account.

Select Reset DTSTART and put in a date older than your missing transactions.

    Select OK and the Refresh.

    Select Update/Send…

Proceed with the update (putting in the Vault Password and such as needed)

Thank you for the process. This did add numerous transactions into Quicken for me. My holdings are still off by a comparatively small amount, but it is much closer than before. The share price for the holdings was never off, though the amount of the holdings were (by much more).
