    Hello @davidinangelfire,

In order to make transaction download into Quicken possible, financial institutions create specifically-formatted Quicken files. Sometimes, these files are changed in a way that prevents them from downloading into Quicken.

You may follow this link to access a FAQ that provides more information and troubleshooting steps. It is recommended to save a backup before proceeding (just in case).

    I hope this helps!

    Hi @Quicken Jasmine

I have not reviewed your link yet.

This is affecting 3 investment accounts at ML. I went to the TFPDownloads/TFPDownloads.aspx page and was able to download/update 2 accounts immediately. The 3rd had an error I did not write down. I tried running OneStep update and continued getting the OL-220.

I decided to print a copy of the transactions for the 3rd account and added all the Buy/Sell transactions. That ran into problems and I went in and deleted all my manual entries. For some reason, I re-tried the TFPDownloads.apsx again; this time it worked for the 3rd account and I am at least in sync.

Yet OneStep update still fails, and I would have to do the download process.

I will note that about at the beginning of this, I got prompted to install R53.32 HF1 and did so. The Release Notes state "Issues causing application errors" - not very informative. I think OneStep worked exactly once before starting to fail with the OL-220 error.

I am starting to suspect the HF …

Is there a process where I can revert to R53.26 and see if the problem goes away? I will review your link later today

    Hello @davidinangelfire,

Is there a process where I can revert to R53.26 and see if the problem goes away?

Yes, you can revert back to R53.26 by downloading and installing this version release through this support article.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi @Quicken Anja

I did read the article you linked to. I'm just not comfortable doing a complete uninstall/reinstall without expecting something weird happening.

However, I did see an article from @Ken from NJ which looks similar enough to mine that I will probably give it a shot. He did contact the financial institution and confirmed no apparent errors. I used Merrill Lynch's 'Accounts → Download Account Data' and it downloaded and processed the transactions correctly.

He also notes that he did the Quicken uninstall/install with no change in the results.

He did a lot of trial-and-error but I think I can repeat what he did and see if it works for me.

    The following works

1 - Run One-Step Update and confirm the error

    2 - take a backup before proceeding

3 - go into 'OneStep Update Settings', disable the Financial Institution causing the errors, run One Step Update and confirm there are no errors

4 - Go into Tools → Account List. For each account of the Financial Institution above, Edit → Deactivate

5 - Pick one of the Accounts you Deactivated and Edit → Activate. You will need to fill in your account login information. Quicken will connect to the Financial Institution and give you the opportunity to re-add all of your Quicken accounts. Approve it. Quicken will download 'all' transactions (but in my case discarded all duplicates). This should complete successfully. You may have some pending transactions to process if you have not been manually downloading them.

6 - Return to 'OneStepUpdateSettings', re-enable the Financial Institution, and run OneStepUpdate. It should now complete without errors.

Note that this is not an error with the financial institition. It is something internal to Quicken which may have been caused by a patch. I dunno.

@davidinangelfire Thanks for the update! Glad to hear you found a solution that works for you. 🙂

For future reference; please be aware that downloading and installing a patch for a prior version release from the support article I provided in my previous response does not require you to uninstall/reinstall the entire Quicken program. You can simply download and install the patch without needing to uninstall/reinstall Quicken.

    Thank you!
