Duplicate Splits

I enter 1 split and it and enters 2 splits, why?

    Just a guess, but the amount in your first split different than the total — if you gave a total for the transaction before you started entering the split? (Which it often would be, because that's kind of the whole point of a Split in the first place)

    Anyway, anytime you're entering splits, if the total of all the splits entered so far doesn't add up to the total specified so far, then Quicken will put in a "remainder" split, which you can resolve by adding more splits or by adjusting the splits you already entered. The "remainder" split just tells you how much is left to be … split.

    Or you just leave the remainder there and it will count as uncategorized and untagged
