PEFCU (Publix Employees FCU) No Longer Available for Quicken Online Setup

This is pefcu.com, not to be confused with Publix or pefcu.org which are different entities.

Publix Employees Federal Credit Union made a change and as of 5/1/24, only QIF download is available. Not QFX or automatic downloads.

I have always had issues with the Web Connect for PEFCU anyway, as mentioned in previous forum posts.

I talked to Quicken chat support this morning, and then Quicken phone support supervisor and the confirmed that the problem is not on my end, or Quicken/Intuit's side.

I chatted with PEFCU rep and they confirmed that they are no longer providing the Quicken integration and only support QIF now.

What a pain. The last day it worked was May 13th. I also confirmed with Publix. They have moved to an internal system that only provides QIF. Back to the 1990s…..

@Karl-D This is most curious … because I can find neither "Publix Employees FCU" nor "PEFCU.COM" in the FIDIR.TXT file that documents all of the connections between Q/Intuit and the Financial Institutions. Not even with the "zzz-" prefix that indicates discontinued (by the FI) connections.

And, going to the Publix.org website confirms that it's a completely unrelated entity.

I notice when I try to connect to Publix Employees Federal Credit Union there is a "supported Institution" within Quicken called simply PUBLIX, and there next to it is a web-address, of www.publix.org … which is wrong. The correct address is www.pefcu.com. I assume someone on Quicken's side changed this and wrecked this connection for all of us. I opened a ticket 4 days ago with Quicken and they are still working on this issue… they still have my ticket OPEN. It worked for years, and now stopped. This was working fine since about 5/15… again, since 5/16. I see the post from Karl above on 5/15 that he talked to Publix, and they said "NO MORE"… wow… frustrating. Now I'm more carefully reading the posts above… sure wish Publix CU would have told all of us… I'll probably change my direct deposit to MidFlorida… migrate over… very frustrating. Or maybe I'll tolerate this and just download the QIF file weekly or so… oh I hate that.

    Hi @elmarq, @NotACPA, and @lewisfla06m !

Yes, when I was on with Quicken on 5/15, they logged in to my system and confirmed that they saw no trace of pefcu.com as a bank that is part of their FIDIR, which is what prompted my call to PEFCU, as it definitely was there before, and I had been using it for over a decade. Why it was deleted rather than marked as discontinued, I don't know.

To elaborate a bit on what I heard from PEFCU, I think their online banking was run by a 3rd party before, and that party worked with Quicken. They have since started running their own online banking system, and they opted not to support the interface, which is why it went away.

PEFCU is for Publix employees, but yes, it is run as a separate entity. My guess is that the Publix.org FI has something to do with Publix Stockholders accounts or 401k or something. it is not PEFCU. And of course, pefcu.org is a totally different and unrelated credit union.

My plan is similar to lewis'… Minimize PEFCU transactions and just use QIF as needed for the few that I'll have remaining there.

@lewisfla06m Can't say that I disagree with you AT ALL. I've "voted with my feet" several times when an entity that I did business with dropped Q.

Q is more important, to me, than any business arrangement (except my MDs and Med Center, but they don't download into Q anyway).

Can you provide the details on who you talked with at PEFCU? Maybe if enough of us call they will rethink their position.

I'm sorry, I don't remember her name, but she seemed pretty knowledgeable on the topic. Often times, people haven't heard of Quicken or don't know what it is. The woman I chatted with knew exactly what I was referring to and confirmed why it was no longer supported. I reached her via the live chat on the website, not via phone.

Thank you to all who confirmed what I thought after trying a multitude of things today with PEFCU. I like the idea of switching things around to another account I have that still works with Q. I appreciate the idea. Thanks!

hello I thought I would add a suggestion. Please send PEFCU a message requesting the integration to be added back.

I messaged them about adding the integration with Quicken back, they forwarded the request to the “Digital Team”. The more members that request the integration the more likely they will make it a priority.
