How do I add a new Tag with a Property Type? When I go to add a new Tag to the Tage List, it automatically assigns it to the Other Type and I want it to go to the Property Type. Can someone tell me the trick to make this a Property Type of Tag?

You have to use the Rent Center (under the Rental tab) to add a new rental property.

The only types of Tags that I see as available are "Other" and "Business", and the latter is only available in the ""Business & Personal" version of Q.

My question is regarding the Tag Type when adding a new Tag. My Tag type show Property and Other. When I go to add a new Tag there is no selection of the Type and when I enter the new Tag it automatically assins it to the Other type when I want the Property Type and I do not see a way to edit the Type field.

What year Quicken and version do you have? Have you used Property type before?

    Hello @EKH,

In the subscription version of Quicken for Windows Business & Personal, property tags are created in your Quicken file when you add a rental property to your file.

If you're not certain what tag you have associated with a rental property, you can go to your Rental tab, Rent Center tab, and click on the property to bring up the Edit Rental Property screen.

If you want to change the tag, you can type the updated tag name into the Tag field, then click OK. You'll get a confirmation box; click Yes to change the existing tag (if you select No, you'll get an error saying that you already have a tag associated with that property).

For more information, see this help article.

    I hope this helps!

Thank you Kristina. This is not for a Rental Property, but for a new Primary Residence we will be moving into. Thus, I want to create a new Property Tag to capture the updates and Expenses. This is why when I am trying to create a new Tag for this purpose it defaults to the Other Type field and not the Property type field. Please explain the step to take to do this for a new Primary Residence location, Thx

Sorry. AFAIK, the Property Tag Type is reserved for the Rental Property feature. It is not available for use outside of Rental Properties.

I would just simply create an Asset account, account type = House to track the house's value.
If you must tag your house - related transactions, use a regular (Type = Other) tag.

Wouldn't you just set up categories for the updates and expenses? Do you have more than 1 personal home? Or just make a regular tag for it.

In signing up for the weekly email digest, where do you find the Community Profile> Notification>Preferences?

Thank you for your reply @EKH,

To answer your question about signing up for the Email Digest, to find your profile, look for the circular icon near the upper right when you're logged into the Community. See sample image below:

When you click on the circular icon, you should see a dropdown menu.

Click on Account & Privacy Settings, then click on Notification Preferences.

You will find the option to sign up for the Email Digest at the bottom of the list.

    I hope this helps!
