Why am I repeatedly asked "Is this the payment for this scheduled bill..."?

This 'feature' drives me crazy. Why do I get the message "Is this the payment for this schedule bill or deposit" when I am entering a scheduled transaction. Is there a way to turn this off? In the several years I've seen it, my answer has ALWAYS been NO. It is not at all useful to me.
This occurs when I enter scheduled payments from the "Bill and Income Reminders" page, and it always is asking about a prior entry I've made but not necessarily to the same payee or amount.

While there isn't currently a way to turn off that pop up, there is an Idea post asking for that functionality:
