Auto loan payments not reducing loan balance

Question

Although I set up my auto loan payments when I added the account in Quicken, Quicken doesn't reduce the auto loan balance after payments. I have to manually adjust the balance each month. I don't have my auto loan connected to one-step update. How can I fix this?

In your loan payment txn in the bank acct, what shows  as the category?

To help troubleshoot this issue, please provide more information.  How do you document the auto loan payments in your Quicken each month?  Do you have a bill reminder set up in your Quicken?  If not, are you documenting this as a transfer from your payment account to that loan (or is the payment account not tracked in Quicken)?
