Introducing Myself

Hey all! I'm Mike and I recently restarted my Quicken for Mac subscription recently. For years, I have been using a spreadsheet to track income, expenses, budgets, and work with categories. I decided to let the technology do the heavy lifting and have mostly migrated. I am also learning the iOS app since I suspect it will be easier to import receipts through that than it will be to play around with taking a picture of the receipt with Adobe Scan, exporting it to my computer, then adding it manually.

While I consider myself a good budgeter, I figured that financial software like this could help me fine tune it - so far, I'm pleased with it for my needs. I would say the only thing that would help me would be the ability to group bank accounts by institution.

Also, in regard to wanting the ability to group bank accounts by institution, I recommend taking a look at this Idea post about re-ordering accounts in the sidebar and adding your vote if you agree with it. This Idea is also currently marked as Under Consideration which means it is currently under review by our Development and Product team.

Our Development and Product teams frequently use our idea posts to improve Quicken and implement new customer-requested features.

@IAmMikeRana It's a poor man's solution, but you can do this by renaming your bank accounts:

Wells Fargo Checking
Wells Fargo Savings
Wells Fargo Vacation Club

or put numerical prefixes on your account names, to be able to control the order precisely and non-alphabetically.
