Security Detail View - Easy way to lookup which accounts has the holdings

It would be great in the security detail view to be able to either 1. see on the screen or 2.Pull up a separate report which accounts and the # of shares you have in each report.

For example, 1 share in Schwab, 2 shares in eTrade, 3 shares in Fidelity.

I currently have to look through the transaction history but that's not a current snapshot.

This would be super helpful.

One way to do this today is to customize an Investing > Portfolio view. Next to Group by, select Accounts. Click on Options and un-check Show closed lots if it is selected. Click on Customize and on the Accounts tab, make sure all your accounts are selected. On the Securities tab, select just the security(s) you want to see. If you have multiple tax lots of the security and want to see the details, click on the plus sign next to each account or click on Expand all at the bottom of the view to see all the lots.

Thanks @Jim_Harman. I just think it should be easier.

I know the coding of Quicken is old school so easy things aren't so easy.

How would you make it easier than the one-time process referenced?

Actually there is an existing Idea post on this topic, from a year ago. It only has one vote so far.

Thanks! I can try that "view" option. I never really play with views.

If this comes up frequently for you, you can create a Portfolio view just for this purpose. In addition to the pre-configured views, there are 14 (I think) views you can customize and name so you can access them any time.

You might call this one "WhereIs". It will default to today's date and it will remember the last security you selected. You can decide which of over 100 investment-related columns you want to include in the view. You can print or export the data.
