Chase Bank Transactions not downloading
I am running Win 10 Quicken Premier 2024. I have had this issue over week and half. Moderartor provided steps in which I tried pasted below .
I have deactivated / reactivated my account a few times. Each time I perform this the most recent posted transaction appears. However , the next day when I run One step update on all accounts , transactions are not appearing . I did try both suggestions , neither are working
Does anyone have a solution and experiencing same issue ?
Windows
- Go to the account register you're having trouble with
- Click the Gear icon in the upper right
- Click Update Now
- Repeat this process for all of your Chase accounts
If that doesn't show new transactions in the register, then try this:
- Go to Tools > Account List
- Click Edit on your impacted Chase account
- On the Online Services tab, click Reset
- Follow any prompts to log in, if needed, and then update your accounts again
Finally, if the above steps aren't helpful, you can refresh your financial institution information in Quicken:
- Choose Tools menu > Online Center.
- Select the financial institution you want to update from the Financial Institution drop-down menu.
- While pressing CTRL+F3 on your keyboard, click Contact info at the top of the screen. You must do all three at the same time.
- Select the financial institution you want to update, and click Refresh. The branding and profile information will be listed under current status as needs updating.
- Click OK.
- Click Update/Send, enter your financial institution Password, and select OK. Follow any additional instructions.

I am having the same issue with 2 Chase accounts. My time period is very similar to yours. I have been performing the "Update Now", and "Reset" steps each day, for more than a week. I have the same results as you. I have not done the third step, and will probably not. The latest set of resets had different outcomes for each account. In one account, the Online Balance now matches the Quicken Ending Balance, but Quicken accomplished that by modifying my beginning balance transaction to make them match (from more than 3 years ago). In the second account, the values still do not match, although all the transactions have been downloaded. Each day, I expect that there will be an issue. (I must say that there may be an issue on Chase's side. The online balance in Chase's website doesn't look correct to me, for either account. I pay the accounts off each Saturday, so would expect that new transactions would add up to the on-line balance. That has not been working for about the same period we are discussing. )

I have had the same problem for over a week with Chase (checking and credit card); same problem with US Bank for several months. I finally gave up and deactivated online services (Express Web Connect +) for both accounts. I am now downloading the transactions into Quicken with Web Connect (import a QFX file from your bank's website); it is not as convenient as EXP+, but at least it works.

I have more information, but I am not sure what I should do with it. I think that this particular problem is on the Chase side, rather than Quicken. I performed the One Click Update at 6:24 this morning, and the two Chase accounts updated. One account Ending Balance agreed with the Chase On-Line Balance, and the other did not. I logged on to the Chase website, and verified that the on-line balance on the Chase website agreed with the number reported by Quicken as the on-line balance. I then verified each downloaded transaction in Quicken against the transactions shown on the Chase website since the last statement. They were all there. The difference between the Quicken balance, and the Chase On-line balance was $51.92. There was no obvious combination of transactions that added up to that. I then created a spreadsheet that tried to recreate the numbers reported by Chase, given the Previous Balance, Payments, Credits and Purchases. The spreadsheet agreed with Quicken, Not Chase. The Chase on-line balance reported by the website did not agree with the calculation using numbers from Chase. I logged back into the Chase website, and a new transaction for $51.92 had magically appeared between 6:24 AM, and 7:20 AM. The on-line balance figure had not changed in the interim, but a new transaction did. I did an 'update transactions' for the Chase account in Quicken, but the 'extra' transaction did not appear. I then did the Reset Account for the Chase account, and after the web verification, and linking to existing account, the one extra transaction was added to Quicken. Now everything agrees. I could not find a link on the Chase website to report this kind of error. I also don't know if there is a timing problem. Had I done the One Click Update at 7:30, instead of 6:20, would everything had worked? I suspect that it might. I tend to update Quicken in the early morning, and have been 'especially early' for the last couple of weeks. If someone from Quicken is monitoring this discussion, I would appreciate any suggestions.
P.S., The extra transaction for $51.92 did not appear in the Pending Transactions on the Chase website at 6:24 in the morning. Specifically, it did not move from Pending to an actual transaction between 6:24 and 7:20; it magically appeared from thin air.

Saw the same thing on the morning of October 14th. A little surprised that I am the only one seeing this. At 6:30 AM, both Chase accounts were out of balance on the Chase website. In this case, I was able to find 'pending' transactions that added up to the balance amount shown. (I am speaking of the amounts on the Chase website, not Quicken.) The Chase website also did not show the payments that I had made two days earlier on Saturday. I rechecked the Chase website at 8:00 AM. By that time, the Pending transactions had moved to the regular transaction area, ( as well as the payments I had made on Saturday.). At that time, the balance in both accounts matched the transactions and payments. I did a one-click-update on Quicken, and all transactions were downloaded correctly.

Having Similiar Chase Issues: My "Update" seems to not be working as described by the Users above. I have to use the "Online Services/Reset Account" function daily to get accurate data downloaded. Also, the "Reconcile" function seem comprimised. When I try to Reconcile (the first daily try), it wants to list every Future Transaction entered in the Register (multiple future months worth of data) as Reconcilable Items. Again I have to use the Reset Account functionality to clear this anamoly out daily to complete reconciling.

Providing a quick update. I continue to believe that this is a Chase Bank issue, not Quicken. I have a new daily routine. I check the two Chase accounts early in the morning, typically around 6:00 AM. About 1/2 of the time, the On-line Balance reported on the Chase website does not agree with the summation of the posted transactions and payments. Sometimes it is one account, sometimes the other. On the days that an account is out of balance, I do nothing, and check back later in the morning. In all cases, checking back later in the morning, the transactions either move from the Pending transaction area to posted transactions, or simply magically appear. In one case, I had to wait until noon for this to occur. Once the Chase website is in balance, I do the one-step-update, and the transactions and on-line balances are successfully loaded into Quicken. As the accounts do not have that much activity ( typically 3-4 transactions per day ), I have a running sheet that shows daily balance, the new and existing pending tranactions, and the new ly added transactions. This allows me to see the Pending transactions move to the posted transactions, and to quickly calculate the discrepancy between yesterday's balance, today's balance, and the total of the added transactions. Basically, it lets me identify which transaction is reflected in Chase's on-line balance, but does not show up in Chase's posted transactions. (Yes, I know I am spending way too much time on this, but I am retired, and my lovely wife wakes up 4 hours after I do.). In another thread, a moderator has suggested that I change from using the Express Web Connect Plus to Direct Connect for these accounts. I have not done so, as I suspect that Chase is updating the Current Balance before posting transactions, and the method of download will not make a difference. As a reminder, this has only been a problem since around the beginning of October.

It's Sunday, October20 at noon Pacific time and none of my 3 Chae credit cards are downloading. Unsure whose problem it is but I've been having trouble with Quicken downloading random stuff and putting transactions into the wrong account for the last month :(

It is Monday, October 28th, and I just wanted to add a quick update. I am still following my routine of checking the Chase accounts on-line before attempting a Quicken update. Some mornings, the Chase on-line balances agree with the accumulated transactions, and some days they do not. In all cases, by noon, the balances have been in-line with the summaries. Case in point, today. At 6:00am, both Chase accounts showed a balance which did not agree with the posted transactions. By 7:00, one account had gone into balance by moving two of the Pending transactions to posted transactions. At 7:00, the other account was still out of balance. By 9:30, that account came into balance by having one of the Pending transactions moved to posted, and the posting of an entirely new transaction. I did the one-step-update in Quicken at 9:30, and all transactions were downloaded correctly.

Me again. It is Wednesday, November 13th. Just an update to say that this is still occuring. It appears to be a timing issue between when Chase shows an updated outstanding balance, and Chase updates the posted transactions that add up to that balance. It happens about every other day. I have two accounts with Chase, one with "Southwest Airlines", and one with "Amazon". On a regular basis, Chase seems to update the "Southwest Airlines" account before the "Amazon". For example, the "Southwest Airlines" account was updated by 6:30AM today, while the "Amazon" account was not updated until 8:30AM. (at least it had not been updated by 7:30AM when I checked before.). As before, once both accounts had been updated on the Chase site, a one-step-update in Quicken pulled all the information correctly.

I am also getting issues with downloading Chase credit card transactions on both my wife's and my credit cards. This appears to have started on November 6 downloading almost no credit card transactions since then. I've had this problem with Chase in the past in May and it eventually went away after a few weeks. Much worse problem this time. Actually hung the Chrome browser trying to authenticate. I did all the steps above in addition to a re-install of Chrome browser, tried changing default browser to Edge even. Sometimes one of the credit cards would download the correct transactions. De-activated and removed download information for all credit cards at least three times in Quicken. I get no errors, it just doesn't download any transactions. Finally gave up and did QFX downloads direct from Chase since Nov 6 to overcome this issue.

Same issue for at least the past month. Some Chase CC transactions download, other do not. Haven't been able to spot a pattern, so not sure what's causing this issue. No error messages are being displayed.
Also unable to download anything from Barclays CC. Can't even authenticate the account, which had been working well until recently.
Really, I feel like I spend more time fixing/working around problems, than I do actually using the software as intended. Quicken is wonderful when it works, but when it doesn't…so aggravating!
