How can I view lots used on prior ESPP sell transaction

I'm trying to view which lots I used in a prior ESPP sell transaction but I can't figure out how to do that.

On non-ESPP sell transactions I can click on the Edit button and then Specify Lots to see what was used.

On the ESPP transactions I get an error when clicking Edit that says "You cannot edit an ESPP 'Sold' or 'MiscInc' transactions…"

Is there any way to view the details of the ESPP transaction without clicking Edit?

Use a capital gains report, it will show the lots in each ESPP sell transaction.

I've not every actually used an ESPP Account so this is a shot in the dark, but I'd think that you could go to the date of the sale in the Holdings view, see the lots that are there, after the sale, and then step back one day in the Holdings view to determine which lots disappeared.

As far as I know, you can't. If you try to edit the sold transaction to see something like this, it will tell you that you can't edit such transactions, so that is a no go. This is one of the major disadvantages of the "Wizards". I haven't had any ESPPs in a very long time, but I don't remember it ever giving me the choice of what security lots to sell. If that is the case, then one would have to assume that Quicken is assuming FIFO. That might get you a bit closer to seeing what it is, but still, it might be guess work…

I just pulled up a capital gains report on my old ESPP account that will at least tell you the number of shares sold, when they were bought, and when they were sold, and the information on the cost and all. It will not tell you which security lot it was taken from, but I don't really think that is what is really important, it is the reported gain and such information, which is provided.

Thanks! That helps a lot (pun intended). It's not a perfect solution, as they need to fix the product to show this, but it gets me close enough to figure it out. I appreciate the assist.

Quicken support was useless. I added a New Idea request, although I'm not sure if those are ever looked at.

Ide a posts are reviewed periodically, but they are seldom implemented unless they receive at least 50 votes.
