    Hello @Michael Manfredo,

To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate:

    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:

    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

    I hope this helps!

    Quicken Jasmine,

I am having the same problem and have run "super validate" as instructed and still One step update or any update other than exporting from the bank or brokerage account, leaves Quicken "hung and no response". What's next? Restore from an earlier Back-up and try not to break it?

    Hello @stevenblomquist,

If the Validate/Super Validate did not correct the issue, then restoring a backup from before the issue started (if possible) is usually the next step.

When did this issue start? Did it coincide with an update or a program/computer crash? Do you use a VPN, firewall, or anti-virus? If so, you may want to try pausing it, just in case the freeze/hang during One Step Update is being caused by a communication issue. Do you keep your Quicken file directly on your local hard drive? If not, please try moving it to your local hard drive and check if that helps. Is it synced with any cloud service, such as OneDrive, iCloud, or Dropbox? If it is, try pausing the sync prior to running One Step Update.

I look forward to your reply!
