white screen after opening quicken

windows 11, quicken classic

up until 2 days ago i could use quicken after my subscription expired BUT as others state 1/2 the screen asks me to renew

now today cant open anything i tried these instructions, https://www.quicken.com/support/reinstalling-and-patching-your-quicken-subscription-version-after-your-membership-has/
always went to the white screen

so i renewed for $71.88
NOW i uninstalled old quicken and downloaded new one<
i open and it asks for my back up, i go and click on my last back up file
back up loads for apx 1 sec and than switches to the white screen with only File an help in upper left corner>

have tried copy back up file to different folder, renaming an still same results

what can i do??

    Pull down the File menu and select a data file.

    tried that
    same same
    loads the file than switches back to the white screen

    i also did this as well updated windows patch

    QW27.1.59.35MPatch

    To assist with this issue, please provide more information. Which version of Quicken were you using before this issue started? Was there anything that happened just before the issue started (program or computer update, power outage, unexpected program or computer shutdown, etc.)? Do you keep your Quicken file directly on your local hard drive? Is your file synced with any cloud services, such as OneDrive, iCloud, or Dropbox?

    Please download the most current update patch to Quicken, using the article linked below, and test to see if that resolves the issue:

    If you are using any VPN, firewall, or anti-virus, please try temporarily pausing them to see if that has any impact on the issue.

    contacted support, was using quicken classic

    Release R55.26

    on laptop, subscription had expired but was able to use but than figured i'd pay the $$ an upgrade and see if that helped but…..

    after upgrade

    downloaded patch but ….

    tried various backup files but..


    seems i have a bad file

    I have checked all my back ups going back 1 year and same results

    suggestions?
    or am i screwed>

    Based on the information you posted, it looks like you ran a Validate on your file and are seeing that message in the validation results? Are you able to get the file to open long enough to run the Validate, or are you running the Validate from the File menu when the blank screen comes up?

    it only opens for a sec at most than switches to the white screen
    so i run validate thru clicking file on the top left

    extremely frustrating

    am trying to even donwload older back up files but…

    i've now tried going back an downlading original quicken that i got in 2023 and trying to add back ups <
    BUT get same message, same corrupt file>
    i've no idea how that could possible happen as it worked fine for years and i made back ups but….

    how can i have the corrupted file on back ups form a few months ago

    update:
    went back and instilled quicken 2018
    searched for a back upform 2023 and installed>
    SAME

    loads and than goes to white screen, run validate and get same message as before

    ou should delete them and recreate as appropriate.

    Are all of the backups you've tried restoring stored in the same location? If so, do you have any backups in an alternate location you can try?
