why are all accounts unchecked everytime i run OSU?

in order to get OSU to update my accounts, I always have to go to OSU settings, then check all then update. If i just click the one step update button (with the circle with arrow) then it only updates security prices and bills and uploads to quicken, all those things on the bottom of the list. is this what everyone has to do? windows 11 home R60.15

Thanks!

    Hello @hambone45,

When did you first notice this issue started? Also, just to confirm, after you check off all of the financial institutions in One Step Update Settings, do you also click Apply before clicking Update Now (see below)?

Check back and let us know!

it has been going on for years. yes, about 2/3 of the time i click apply but it does nothing then update now. I do this on the off chance that an update will fix it sometime. next time it's the same thing. I thought there was something about emptying a cache but i can't find where to do this.

    Thanks for the reply Anja

    Thank you for following up.

Can you tell us where your data file is located on your computer— is it on your computer hard drive (C:drive) or in a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc)?

As for clearing Quicken cache, if you want to try that you will first need to close Quicken, then in your File Explorer, you will need to remove the “Cache” folder from “C:\programData\Quicken”, then reopen Quicken.

Let us know how it goes!

the file is in a local file with backup on an external hard drive. But of course with windows now everything is on the cloud. I’ll do the empty cache tomorrow if you think it’s safe to do that.

    Hello @hambone45,

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling Quicken? Please refer to the following support articles for instructions on uninstalling here and reinstalling here.

However, after you have uninstalled and before you proceed with reinstalling, please open your Windows File Explorer and navigate to This PC > C: Drive > Program Files (x86) and delete the folder titled "Quicken" (doing so does not affect your data files).

After you have deleted this folder, go ahead and try reinstalling.

Let me know how it goes!

funny. the first time I clicked update down arrow and settings all of the boxes were checked and i thought all was good. I clicked apply just to make sure and then update and all went fine. I retried and again all boxes are unchecked. i tried again and no luck.

Thank you for following up, though I am sorry to hear that issue is still persisting.

Next, I suggest you try signing out of your data file completely and then signing back in to refresh the registration token for your Online Connected Services. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    1. Navigate to Edit
    2. Preferences...
    3. Quicken ID & Cloud accounts
    4. Click Sign in as a different user (or it might say Sign in using a different Quicken ID)
    5. Follow the prompts to Sign Out
    6. Sign back in using your Quicken ID (email) and password

Let us know how it goes!

maybe i should redo the delete thing again after signing out because maybe the token has the erroneous setting for the update since it seemed fine the first time?

If you wish to try that, that’s fine. There is no harm in doing so. Just make sure you have a backup file saved just in case.
