Fidelity Rewards Visa

The Fidelity Rewards Visa continues to be a problem complicated by the lack of knowledge provided to technical support. They don't know if the card should use Fidelity MAC, Fidelity Investment and Retirement or Elan Financial. I have spent endless time on the phone trying to figure out what connections work. What is Quicken doing to resolved a stable connection to Fidelity.

    Hello @TechConsumer,

I have taken the time to further look into the issue that you are experiencing and I can see that our Quicken Support team asked you to gather a few documents and callback so that they may help provide further assistance and escalate the issue if needed. Below is the list in case you need it!

    • Transactions activity from the bank's website
    • Account summary from the bank's website
    • screenshot of the add account pop up showing up the credit card

Unfortunately, we cannot escalate issues through the Community. I suggest contacting Quicken Support directly so you may resume working through this issue with them. You can contact Quicken Support through this link. You can also reference this ticket number when calling so that they are able to resume from where you left off (Ticket #11420239).

    Thanks!

Elan Financial is the best option for downloading this credit card. It has been working pretty trouble-free since at least last July.

Can't say the same about Fidelity Investment and Retirement….although it has been working for me for the last few weeks, until today, that is. But connection issues are not uncommon on weekends so I always reserve judgement on weekend connection issues until the next business day.

If Fidelity MAC is direct connect: I don't think Fidelity has ever supported downloading this credit card via direct connect.

Good to know I'm not alone in this, you are correct, same experience, things started breaking over the past week. The Quicken helpdesk staff wanted me to send screen shots that included accounts with balances and transaction activity, that's a no go. I've been using Quicken since it's early days and know a problem when I see it and if they get enough complaints will eventually figure it out. It's a bug and I would hope easily addressed or Quicken can update documentation to drive users towards Elan Financial Services. If Quicken does fix this, my guess the link will break again and direct us to use Fidelity MAC, Investments & Retirement or stick with Elan.

I can't speak to the Fidelity MAC connection since I am a QWin user. The QWin DC equivalent to that is Fidelity Investments which has been working really well for a long time (with a short interruption this past September) for downloading investment accounts….but never supported downloading of the credit card.

The Fidelity - Investments & Retirement was created to implement a new high security connection method in QWin called EWC+. It is still called Quicken Connect in QMac (not sure why they kept the name unchanged from the original Quicken Connect). It was is created to download investment accounts and this credit card.

Fidelity released this new connection method almost a year ago and it has proven to be problematic from the start with multiple download/connection issues having occurred ever since then. I seriously doubt that this is a Quicken software issue. More than likely is that Fidelity has been making a lot of system changes over the past 1-2 years and Quicken is usually not the highest priority for financial institutions so something breaks on their end or between them and the aggregator (Intuit). Eventually the financial institutions and the aggregator do get it fixed but it can often be a painfully slow process.

BTW: I did download the credit card via Fidelity - Investments & Retirement just a few minutes ago and the download worked perfectly for me. So, it appears that Fidelity was doing some system maintenance yesterday which prevented a good download connection then.

If you are trying to download via Fidelity - Investments & Retirement accounts and are still not getting a good connection, you might want to try disconnecting all of your Fidelity accounts that are using this connection. Then try setting them up/authorizing them, again. In QWin, when I have tried to fix downloading of one account without first disconnecting all of the related connected accounts, it then causes download issues with all the accounts that had not been disconnected first.

Elan Financial has certainly had it's share of connection/download issues over the past 1-1/2 yrs, too. Elan, as well, has gone through a number of significant system changes and with each change it seemed to break downloads into Quicken. I am glad that is has now been working well for nearly 6 months!
