EWC+ tokens?

Does Quicken Connect EWC+ use tokens for bank account access like the articles say? Then why do I get nightly bank notices of user id & password used for downloads?

    Hello @Robert Anderson,

Currently, there are a small number of financial institutions that connect using EWC+. It is a bit confusing in Quicken for Mac since both EWC and EWC+ show as Quicken Connect. See this article for more information on connection types in Quicken:

Which financial institutions are you getting these notices from?

I look forward to your reply!

    Thank you for your reply,

Currently, we don't have a support article listing every financial institution that supports a given connection method.

Probably the simplest way to tell if your account uses EWC+ is when you're connecting it, you have to go through a redirect to the financial institution to authorize the account, then get directed back to Quicken to add or link the account as appropriate (this process is referred to as OAuth). The screenshot below shows what the OAuth prompt looks like in Quicken for Mac.

    I hope this helps!

Yes, I read it which is where I learned about the (preferable) token authorization alternative. Is there a list of EWC+ institutions?

If the list is "small" than our local savings bank most likely isn't on it. Thanks for the quick reply.

To follow up on the previous post @Robert Anderson,

There is a way to check whether the account is connected via regular Quicken Connect or EWC+/OAuth when the account is connected in your Quicken. Click on the account to select it, then go to Accounts>Settings… and select the Downloads tab. Where you see Quicken Connect, click on that and it will show you more information. If the account is connected via EWC+/OAuth, it will show that it's using OAuth.

If it is just regular Quicken Connect, it will show default.

Thanks @jacobs for pointing this out!
