Looking for recommendations for 2024 Federal and NY State/City income tax prep and printing for a small S-Corp and personal returns. Preferably, but not required, with an interface to Quicken.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Why not simply Turbotax? Or, even, TaxCut. There are plenty of tax programs out there, why ask here????

Because I am familiar with Quicken and would like something that accepts data from it.

For the personal returns, TurboTax Deluxe or Premier with the New York State option should work. For the S Corp you would also need TT Business.

Quicken can export personal data to TurboTax, but its data, even if 100% accurate, is incomplete. I prefer to use Quicken's Tax reports and the 1099 and W2 forms I receive and enter the data manually into TurboTax.

H&R Block says their tax software can import data from Quicken, as well, but I have not tried doing that with their software.

Personally, though, I have encountered issues when I tried to import Quicken data into TurboTax, especially with regard to investments, because the data in Quicken is not always complete and it's capital gains/losses calculations will be inaccurate if the cost basis of shares sold is not 100% accurate. I am pretty sure that these issues would apply to any tax software, not just to TurboTax.

I've used both TurboTax and H&R Block the last 10 yrs or so. They both work pretty well. I usually decide which software to use in the Nov/Dec time frame when the best promo prices are offered.

Because of these issues I, too, prefer to use Quicken's tax reports and the various tax forms I receive to manually enter the data into whichever software I end up using each year. It seems to be faster to do it this way than to import from Quicken and then spend a lot of time fixing the investments data issues that I find.
