FYI - Just installed and had to uninstall twice the new Quicken for Mac update. It causes crashes with any entry into the register.
@Jordbarnet I'm not experiencing this issue; I haven't had any crashes yet with version 8.0. Just to gather some data…
Mac Version 15.2 (24C101)
No quicken windows open other than main window
Crash occurs when entering a new transaction. into the fields and pressing return to save it.
I haven't sent the crash report….I have deleted and reinstalled quicken repeatedly. Old version version 7.10.1 works fine. It is only with the upgrade and the data file (which is huge) being upgraded that this repeatedly occurs
Also, fyi - I've deleted my prior version of quicken, gone into the library, deleted the application support files for quicken, and rinstalled quicken followed by the upgrade to version 8. The same crash occurs again and again…..
Just sent a crash report
Same issue here.
Hello All,
We will be forwarding this issue to the proper channels to have this further investigated. However, we request that you please navigate to Help > Report a problem within your Quicken program and submit a problem report with log files and screenshots attached in order to contribute to the investigation.
It would also aid the investigation to include a sanitized file when submitting the problem report. A sanitized file is a data file that removes personally identifiable information so you can comfortably share this file with the Quicken team.
While you will not receive a response through this submission, these reports will help our teams in further investigating the issue. The more problem reports we receive, the better. We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime! Thank you. (CBT-520)
Seems like it only crashes when I use tab off the Payee field. If I select the payee from the drop down and then click off the row, it doesn't crash.
Narrowing it down further, if I removed the business column, then use tab from the payee field, it doesn't crash.
@David Alonso Thank you for providing these additional details! I will go ahead and have it added to the ticket.
So….in case anyone else runs into this problem, an engineer from Quicken figured out what is going on. I had a business account that, inadvertently, was created (other than the one I use). This business account didn't have a name assigned. The solution to solving the problem was to go to the tab for businesses and delete the unnamed business account. From that point forward, everything is working. I hope this helps anyone who encounters the problem I had, saves them time, and aids in an easy update. My thanks to the engineer from Quicken who helped me!
@Jordbarnet Thank you for sharing these details! I'm glad to hear that this resolved the issue for you.
Can others in this thread please confirm if this also worked for you?
Thank you!
