Is Quicken for Windows crashing for others?

I have used Quicken for Windows for years. Around January 5, 2025 it started crashing during startup. I spent over 5 hours on the phone with CSRs with the final conclusion from Quicken being that there is a known problem in the software causing the crash. I had tried everything: reinstalling a clean copy of Quicken, deleting all associated AppData files before installing, verifying my data file, opening Quicken without a data file. None of this worked. I did find that running the current patch enabled me to open Quicken from the patch window, but it would not open again after closing. Customer Service gave me a case number and said the team is working on the problem and will let me know when it is resolved. Meanwhile, no Quicken for me!

    What CSR (do they actually work for Q, or some 3rd party) and did they explain what this "known problem" allegedly is? It's been several days since 1/5, so why would you be the 1st to report this "known problem"?

    Because I'm not heard of such, and I'm on Quicken every day.

    I had two CSR conversations, both started via the phone number listed on the Quicken support page. The second CSR who cited the known problem gave me a case number. Both CSRs had Russian or eastern European accents and were in noisy call centers. In both cases I shared my screen with the CSR via the quicken.com/support/screenshare url.

    I've been having the same issues. Quicken has been crashing the last several days when I try to open it. Been a Quicken user for well over 15 years and have never had this issue. What is the issue?

    The Quicken Team provided me with a test build of Quicken, which I installed and ran only to have the crash occur once again. I am without a functioning Quicken program. I have been using Quicken for over 20 years by the way.

    @QuickTwit506 This is odd, to say the least. Can you tell us about your hardware? In particular, Operating System, Quicken version/Build, & available space on hard drive.

    I am running Quicken Premier Personal for Windows. I cannot cite the release number of Quicken that I was running, as that is no longer running on my machine, but I can say that Quicken had been updating on my machine regularly up until the crashes started, so presumably I had been running the latest release. My PC is running Windows 10 with regular updates and had 575 GB free space on the hard drive and has 8 GB RAM. It is an older laptop, probably 9 years old, Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3230M CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz. I trust that this helps.

    It is day 17 without Quicken. Apparently the "Level 3" team is working on my case, but I have heard nothing from them. I am looking at alternatives to Quicken going forward. I've been a loyal user for over 20 years and will lose my entire financial database if I cannot use Quicken.

    @QuickTwit506 Have you attempted to reinstall an older patch - perhaps a November or December patch available here .

    I reinstalled the older patch Release R60.15 (12/3/2024) and it seems to be working now. Thank you very much. I conclude that the R60.20 patch of 1/3/2025 did not agree with my laptop.
