How to create a crypto & precious metals "security type"

I've been using Q Deluxe on Mac for years and it is up for renewal next month. In Deluxe there is no security type for crypto or precious metals. While I know these are not securities in the traditional sense, I would like to have my "Asset Allocation" view show these two investments as they are part of my overall investment portfolio . Using the "other" type but that does not accomplish a breakdown of my assests.
Does Q Premier support what I'm trying to accomplish or do I need to look for different software?

Hello @marco1,
We appreciate you reaching out with your question.
Cryptocurrency and precious metals tracking is not currently supported in Quicken Classic for Mac, though cryptocurrency is on the roadmap for future implementation. However, Quicken’s product development teams do not provide an estimate of when new/enhanced features will be completed and released.
You can also refer to this Idea post for updates as it will be updated once implemented.
As for precious metals— you can refer to this Idea post and add your vote as it is currently marked as Under Consideration.
I hope this helps!

To add to what @Quicken Anja already said, you can’t create your own security types. You can create your own individual securities but you’d have to manage them by hand & update the prices yourself every day, and you’d have to assign them to one of the existing predefined types.

@marco1 Here's some good news/bad news…
As has already been answered, the bad news is that Quicken Mac does not allow you to create additional custom asset classes. BUT… the good news is that this has been a longstanding feature customers have requested, and the development team has agreed and given it a status of "Planned", meaning it has a spot on their development calendar:
But the bad news is that we don't know (we never know) when a particular planned feature will be released. (It seems to often happen in the year after the year Ideas are marked planned, which in this case would point to sometime later this year, but there's no certainty of that because a few "Planned" features have remained in that status for a long time.)
