Linking Coinbase Bitcoin Wallet account in Quicken - Windows

When I go to add an account for Coinbase Bitcoin Wallet, the add account wizard asks for

"API Key" generated from Bitcoin.com website

and

"API Secret" generated from Bitcoin.com website.

I used the Create API in Coinbase.com. It provides a Name and Key ID.
It also creates a "name" and a "Private Key". Both are very long strings.

Which are the ones that Quicken add account wizard is asking for?
Everything I attempt to enter is rejected.

Thanks

P.S. I do get an error code now… CC-929 - Too many attempts. But that is because I've tried several combinations of the information I thought the wizard was asking. Now I need to log out and wait. But when I return, knowledge of what to put in there would be wonderful.

    Hello @bobwiseman,

Thank you for sharing the issue you're encountering. Based on the CC-929 error you mentioned, were you getting CC-503 errors prior to that? Was the account previously connected and downloading, or are you trying to add it to your Quicken file?

If you previously had the account connected, make sure that you don't have anything for that account stored in the Password Vault. You can do that by following these steps:

    1. Launch Quicken and go to Tools > Password Vault > Add/Edit Passwords.
    2. Click on the account in the Password Vault.
    3. Choose Delete Password for the account.
    4. Complete a One Step Update, you will be prompted to enter the password manually.
    5. Type in the password (the same one used on the bank's website) and check in the box marked Save next to the password field.
    6. Click Update Now.

I look forward to your reply!

I was receiving 503s before the 929s. Now that I have waited awhile the 929s are gone but the 503s have returned.
My issue is that I don’t know what Quicken is asking for. The Quicken terminology is not that of Coinbase when creating an API.
I have tried the Coinbase API Name, the API key, the API Private Key and my Codebase login. Two of those in the correct order ought to work.
This is a first time to connect the account.
Having said that, it is possible that the Password Vault has junk in it from previous failed attempts. I will delete those as you suggested.
If anyone has had success in connecting Coinbase Wallet, what did you populate Quicken with that allows it to validate and connect?

Previous closed discussions indicate that you must use the "Legacy" Coinbase API when setting up the connection but even with that they seem to have been unsuccessful.

I think your best bet would be to contact Quicken Support by phone, using the number listed at Help > Contact Support. It will take some time to work through the standard Level 1 support questions and get the issue escalated to Level 2 support.

Please let us know if you find the answer.

Will do. I was hoping the answer to the question would be simple. Use “this” and use “that” and I’d be good to go.

    Thank you
