Prevent automatic entry of credit card payment when balance is 0

Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

Using Quicken Classic for Windows I have several credit cards setup up for reminders to automatically enter full balance payments. Annoyingly, Quicken creates the payment entry in the register when the credit card balance is zero. Is there a setting to prevent this? I've dug through settings and searched the support pages and can't find it, so suspect I'm out of luck but, thought I'd ask here just to cover my bases.

Thanks

    Hello @derekpc,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community with this problem. Based on your description of the issue, it sounds like you have a bill reminder set up to auto-enter into your register. If that is what is happening, then what you can do to prevent that reminder from automatically entering into your register is skip that reminder. You can do this from the Bills & Income tab by clicking the dropdown to the right of the Enter button and selecting the Skip this one option.

If you prefer using the Calendar, you can skip it by going to Tools>Calendar, click on the day, select the reminder, then click the Ignore button. If it has already entered into the register, the Ignore button will instead say Delete, and you'll be able to delete the unwanted entry by clicking that delete button.

You can also turn off auto entry from the Bills & Income tab. Click the dropdown next to the Enter button and select Edit this and all future instances.

Then, in the Optional Settings section, click the blue "change" link and select the Reminder me "x" days before the due date.

That will prevent it from automatically putting the transaction in your register, but you will need to enter or skip the reminder manually.

    I hope this helps!

Nope, no such setting. Just delete the unneeded transaction.

You could also create a New Idea, via the New Post button above, to suggest this and see what support it gets from other users. It seems to take about 50 votes in favor for Q's developers to take note and evaluate the idea for possible inclusion (or not) in an upcoming (possibly distant) release.
