By the rules of this thread—it seems Spring has officially hit my neighborhood (a bit late compared to the normal calendar rule of March 20), as I heard my neighbor mowing his lawn bright and early this morning. 😌

When we moved from Minneapolis, MN, we vowed never to have a lawn to mow. After 50 years of mowing lawns, raking leaves, and shoveling snow, it became very tiresome. We now live in Palm Desert CA. No lawn to mow, no leaves to rake, and most of all, NO SNOW.

Back in Minneapolis, the first sign of spring was the chirping Robins.

Here in the southern CA desert, I am still trying to figure out what the first sign of Spring is. I think maybe it's the influx of snowbirds? Nevertheless, we love it here in California.

Yes, one more note about my ailing push mower in our Ode to Spring 🙄 Cranked her up today. Ran OK and was pushing and puttering merrily along for about 20 minutes…..THEN, there was that foreboding sound from the engine. The spit, sputter, slowing and speeding up; THEN a loud POP and engine stopped dead. Now what! 😟 Long story short, took housing apart, looked at fuel & vacuum lines, fuel injection system & or carb (located behind air filter). All seemed well. What to do? Got my trusty fuel line & carb cleaner, (Mechanic In A Bottle). Dribbled about 10 drops in fuel injection, carb area. Let it stand for about 45 minutes. Reassembled housing. Gave a tug on starter cord. Smoke comes pouring out muffler for about 10 seconds then….BINGO, runs like a top now. At least till next time? 🤔🤣
