Is the Tax Planner going to be fixed, or is it going to stay 2024?

The Tax Planner has always been a bit wonky, but it went south in Jan 2025. Is this going to be fixed? Has it been abandoned? Is it just me?

Are you up-to-date on Quicken software updates?
You should be running Release (Build) R 27.1.61.21 (US) or R 27.1.61.23 (Canadian version). Click Help / About Quicken to see release number.0

Could you be a little more specific about what problem you're having? "…went south…" doesn't give us much info.

What exactly has gone wrong?
When you open the Tax Planner, you can set the tax year at the top.

Thank you both for the replies. Very much appreciated
When I open the Tax Planner and select the Tax Year, I see 2024 and 2025. When I highlight and click 2025, Quicken does not respond and stays on 2024.
When I dig a bit deeper, I see that after Jan 2025, my 2024 data, which was directionally correct, has now mixed with 2025 data. For example, The Interest/Dividends detail pages show 2025 data, but the deductions detail page shows 2024 data.

What you are seeing is normal. Until Quicken has actual transactions or scheduled transactions for 2025, it will use a projection based on 2024 transactions adjusted for inflation. You can change the sections to User Entered if the 2024 numbers don't fit with what you expect for 2025.

OK, but should I not then be able to select the 2025 Tax Year, seeing that Interest, Dividends and Income pages do contain 2025 data?

I did update to the latest build via a patch and it looks like it fixed the problem with the Tax Planner. I thank you for your help.
I use Quicken every day. I'm a bit surprised that I was unaware of a patch to update the build. I periodically check for updates, and every time I did it came back as running the latest version. I realize that did not mean the build, but going forward, how do know when a new build is available?

You could have fallen into the black hole of time between an initial release of a patch to a limited number of users and the time, a few days later, when the patch became generally available. I'm sometimes struggling to understand the patch release mechanism myself.
Running One Step Update should have prompted you when a patch was available.
Generally, Help / Check for Updates should tell you when you're falling behind.
I always try to install patches immediately after starting Quicken, not after I have been working in Quicken for hours and making many changes, to avoid the potential for data file damage caused by Quicken shutting down without properly closing the data file

Here what I understand the process to be in general for updates.
- They put out the release to a limited amount of people. So, you basically have to do a One Step Update (or do Help → Check for Updates) in the short period of time it is available. From times that I have caught that it is generally released late at night, and you have to catch it within a few hours in the morning. At this point, sometimes (which should be more predictable, but isn't) they will also put the manual patch release out at this URL, and also "sometimes" they will post an announcement in this forum. Update and Mondo Patch: Subscription Release of Quicken for Windows
- When they release it to the general public you should see a notice for the update after doing a One Step Update (and you can check from the Help menu).
- Also, it seems that they periodically check for updates, something like once a week when you start Quicken. People have reported that it will install it without asking if you haven't setup your Windows' user preferences to force it to ask before installing anything.

The patch that updated Tax Planner to 2025 was available in December. Something is going on with your setup that is preventing notifications of available updates. Once the update goes to general distribution, you should get a notice when you open Quicken, run OSU or click the check for updates.
