Account Details - Separate Field for Account Website

Quicken Mac Subscription Member ✭✭

The current details for an account do not have a dedicated field for a website (URL). I currently put this information in the Notes field then copy and paste it into my browser. It would be nice to have an account website field for the convenience of clicking on it and launching the browser at that web page. And that will separate the website information from other notes related to the account. This field may be the same as the transaction download link in some cases, however, even those links are not visible if one needs to login to the account's website outside of Quicken.

Note: This idea is for the Mac Product!  For some reason, the ideas suggestion does not show any categories for Mac Classic.  Please see attached.

    Hello @VinceH,

Thanks for letting us know! The issue with Idea categories for Mac Classic not showing as an option to post to has been reported to the proper channels. I moved your Idea to the Mac Classic section of the Community.

    Thank you!

Back to the original subject of this discussion. It appears to have been sidetracked by an issue with Community categories.

While we are waiting for Mac expert users or moderators to respond to your original question …

It will take some time for the Idea to be added to the programmers' To Do List, if it ever gets to that stage.
Meanwhile may I suggest that you simply bookmark the bank's URL in your browser's list of favorite websites for quick and easy access to the bank.

Yes, sorry for going off-track there.

I think this is what you've said you're already doing, but to make sure we're on the same page: there is an existing Notes field for each account which can be used for holding the URL. Just click the Settings icon on the bottom toolbar, or Accounts > Settings from the menu, and you see the open Notes field:

If this is what you're currently doing — select the text in Notes, copy, switch to your browser, and paste — you're just wanting a dedicated URL field that didn't require the copy and paste, correct?

I do understand wanting to eliminate the need to open Settings, select text, copy, switch programs, and paste. But I'm with @UKR here: why not just record the bookmarks of your financial institutions in your browser? In my browser bookmarks menu, the first thing I have is a folder for "Financial", in which I have bookmarks of the login URLs for every financial institution, service vendor, tax authority, etc. So I always get to the web page I need with just one click on a dropdown menu; I wouldn't get much value from storing some of those same URLs in Quicken.
