Happy April Fools Day! Being as it's a day when many play pranks, it raises the question of whether you enjoy April Fools Day, or prefer to avoid it.

Personally, I enjoy April Fools Day, but I try to keep my pranks in the category of fun for everyone. To me, the best pranks are the ones that everyone enjoys, rather than having fun at someone else's expense.

Have a wonderful month and a fun April Fools Day!

I'm indifferent to pranks. They can be fun when they’re harmless, but I think boundaries are important. Some things just shouldn’t be joked about or pranked, and one that really irks me is the fake pregnancy prank. While I know others find it funny, it doesn’t really make me laugh.

Quick storytime—a few years ago, my husband pranked his boss (the CEO) with help from HR by handing in his resignation. No two-week notice, just a dramatic “rage quit” kind of thing. It was shortly after COVID’s quarantine period ended, and his boss looked at him, clearly offended, and said, “I thought we were closer than that. Do you have anything to say?” My husband responded with, "well there's only one thing to say", pulled his mask down, smirked, and said, “April Fools.” 😅

His boss had a good laugh but vowed to get him back. And he did—when it was time for my baby shower in 2023, he gifted my husband a 49ers bib, knowing full well that he’s a die-hard Raiders fan. 😂

Both moments remain some of our fondest memories!

    Happy April Fools Day! 🎉

I’ve always enjoyed the lighthearted side of today, and in my family, it comes with an extra twist—April 1st is also my brother’s birthday! When we were younger, we had a running tradition of telling him he was adopted. It actually worked surprisingly well because he looks so different from the rest of us. He has almost white-blond hair, super pale skin, and light-colored eyes, while the rest of us are noticeably darker. It didn’t help that he was the only one in the family with those features, so for a while, he actually believed it! 😆

Of course, now he’s in on the joke, but we still keep the tradition alive every year. Hope you have a fantastic April Fools Day filled with fun pranks and good laughs!

@Quicken Anja I like that boss already. Even though I've lived in Tennessee for over 30 years, and my late Father was the external auditor for the Redskins, I'm still a Niners fan from the years that I lived in SF.

I've told my TN friends, that I'll become a Titans fan when they bring me a couple of SuperBowl trophies. My first few years in SF were the start of the "Montana Era".

Back in my younger days I enjoyed April Fool's Day, mostly though with my Dad. He had a great sense of humor, and could take a joke, as well as pull some good one's. I had started high school in a 'new' town that we had just moved to. Dad knew I wasn't happy about beginning all over again in a new school, you know, the adjusting and all. He always reminded me, "Buck up boy, I attended about 7 different schools. Plus, had to drop out 2 years to help on farm during depression, before I finished 12th grade. You can hack it." So, as I drug myself to the kitchen table for breakfast that April Fool morning, he casually mentioned, "Son, you've got a flat tire on that ole Ford Falcone of yours you're diving to school, better fix it fast before breakfast." So I went bellyaching out the door to fix the sucker. You guessed it, no flat tire. Came back in complaining "What flat, it ain't flat." Dad just smiled and said, "April Fool"! Got me good that day 🤣

While living in Germany you had to beware of people offering you fresh donuts on April Fool's Day, the variety that was usually filled with raspberry jam.
However, some of the donuts were filled with mustard or horseradish cream instead … bon appetit!

Are some of the posts that we've been seeing here recently belated April Fool's jokes?

    I can only hope.
