I have several accounts when the statement is always end of month or the 24th, etc. it would be nice to have this date pre-populated, when you reconcile month by month. don't most user's reconcile after each statement or is that too old school?
When I reconcile with "Use Statement Balance", Quicken does exactly what I think you're asking for: it always populates the statement Ending Date with a date one month later than the previous reconciliation. So if I reconciled on February 24, the next time I start a reconciliation, it will default to March 24. Are you not seeing this? Or are you asking for something else I'm not understanding?
Hello @KOD,
Your profile says that you are a Windows user; however, you posted this idea in a Quicken for Mac idea category. Would you mind providing clarification?
Thanks!

Personally, I reconcile after I download, and I download almost every day. I reconcile to the online balances.
Looking at Quicken Windows does for manual entry to statement. It remembers the date of the "prior ending statement date" and defaults to that:
But for accounts that you download it seems that it defaults to a blank "Ending statement date".
Even though I don't use this I have voted for it, because it just makes sense that it should be consistent and work that way. Note the even with a connected account Quicken Windows still has the "Last Reconcile" date in the Account Overview, so clearly this can be done (and frankly I think it was done in the distant past).
Just checking in before this idea is turned into a discussion due to lack of clarification.
Please let me know, thanks!
