Capital One - import in?

I am working with a client who has Quicken for Mac. (I don't know which version.) Today she reconnected with Capital one and downloaded transactions into two registers. However they are both missing 7 months (June of 2024 to December of 25). Does anyone know if it's possible to download the missing transactions from Capital One to an excel sheet? And if so, is it possible to upload those transactions into Quicken? This is to prevent me having to enter them one by one. If this is not possible, what other options do I have? Thank you so much!

Most financial institutions limit direct downloads to the past 90 days, and that seems to be what you ran into here. The solution — if the financial institution provides it — is to download the prior months in a QFX-formatted file to th users computer, where it can them be imported into Quicken. And Excel file won't help, because Quicken doesn't import Excel or .csv files*; you need a file in QFX format. If CapitalOne provides to downloading QFX files, then it should be an easy process to download a file and then import it into Quicken.
(*There actually is a way to import a .csv file, but it requires careful preparation of the columns and column headers to be exactly what Quicken will accept, so it isn't as optimal an approach as obtaining a QFX file.)

Hello @JJJackson33,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community with this question. What kind of accounts is your client needing to import data for? I know Capital One does offer the ability to download up to 25 months worth of history for credit cards. I don't have any other type of account with Capital One, so I can't confirm if they offer the same for other account types.
I would recommend downloading a QFX file, since that is specifically designed for import into Quicken. To find the option to download QFX files, your client would need to login to their Capital One account. Once logged in, they would need to select the account they want to view. They should see some options under the account information, and before the transaction history. Select "I Want To…"
That will bring up a menu. Select Download Transactions.
The Download Transactions window will have two drop-down menus. In the first one, choose QFX for the File Type.
For the second one, select Custom Date Range for the Time Period.
That should allow your client to select the 7 month time period that they need.
Once your client chooses the date range and clicks Export, it should create/download a QFX file. Often, that file will automatically start importing into Quicken. If it does not automatically import, then they can manually prompt it to import in their Quicken by navigating to File>Import>Bank or Brokerage File (OFX, QFX)…
That will open a finder window that they can use to locate and select the QFX file to import.
I hope this helps!
