I can access Elan Financial Services through web but after several attempts in the final step of trying it in Quicken when it shows me it found my account with correct credit card final 4 numbers to the right side of screen there is an "action" that states "don't add to Quicken". Then the screen simply disappears when I press enter.

    Hello @Bertrum,

    Thanks for reaching out!

When you see “Don’t add to Quicken” after successfully signing in to Elan Financial Services, it usually means Quicken recognizes the account as already existing in your file, even if it’s hidden or not currently connected.

You might want to try checking a few things to clear that up:

    1. Check for Hidden Accounts
Go to Tools > Manage Hidden Accounts.
If you spot any accounts tied to Elan Financial Services, try unchecking “Hide in Account Bar and Account List” and “Keep this account separate” (if selected). That way, you can ensure everything is visible and accessible for editing.

    2. Deactivate Any Existing Elan Accounts
Once you’ve confirmed the accounts are visible:

    • Open Tools > Account List (Ctrl + A). Screenshot 2025-05-01 at 1.26.58 PM.png
    • For any Elan-related accounts, click Edit and go to the Online Services tab.
    • If the account is still connected, select Deactivate and confirm.
Repeat this for each Elan account you see.

    3. Try Re-Adding the Account
After everything is deactivated, go to Tools > Add Account, search for Elan Financial Services, and sign in. At that point, you should have the option to link to existing accounts or add them as new, rather than seeing “Don’t add to Quicken.”

Let me know what you find!

So, you have been manually downloading your Elan account transactions from your online account there and then manually importing them into Quicken?

If my understanding is correct, the "don't add to Quicken" means that your account is already connected with the Web Connect method.

    1. Account Register: If you have not already done so, enter and save the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount into the Memo Field. (This is a proactive troubleshooting step. More on this later.)
    2. Backup your data file.
    3. Go to Account Register > upper right Gear icon > Edit Account Details > Online Services tab.
    4. If it shows there that you are connected with Web Connect, click on the Deactivate button.
    5. Go to Tools > Add Account > type in and select Elan Financial Services > complete the rest of the download setup process > if/when prompted, Link the downloaded data to the Elan account you already have in Quicken.
    6. If your register balance is not correct, check the Opening Balance transaction. If the dollar amount does not equal what you previously entered in the Memo field, correct it to match what is in the Memo field.

Did this resolve the issue for you?
