Return of checking account errors - MAC

Thank you for your reply,
Discussions typically get closed after about a month of inactivity. The easiest way to prevent one from being closed is to periodically post.
As for what would cause the issue, here is what I suspect: You mentioned that this is a Direct Connect account. Additionally, all of them had the closed envelope icon. It may be that Quicken was seeing bank bill pay transactions, but not recognizing those transactions were already in the register.
I hope this helps!

I'll try to keep it alive.
AS to your theory, don't forget the tnew downloadede orange envelopes had no FITID. Likely why they could not match? But why would a transaction download with out one?
Too odd. Thanks for all the help Kristina.

Just a bump to keep this thread open as if thetre will be more dupes, it should be in the next 2 weeks. All good (as far as this issue) right now.

Please let us know if you see it happen again in the next two weeks!

@Quicken Kristina Got dupes this morning on MAC. Not on Windows.
Aug 12 or the 12th day of the month has no significance. Not the close of a statement. In fact, staement date was 7/31/2025.
This time there were 15 of them and the earliest 2/6/25. Latest 5/23/25. All orange closed envelopes. All uncategorized. None had FITID.
Every one a credit card payment (5 different cards) paid from this checking account.

None of these will match. "The selected transactions cannot be matched". Unlike last month.
My only option it seems is to delete the new duplicates. I will give it until tonight for your suggestions before I do that, Krisitina. Though I see no other option. And it is not working as it did last month.

Thank you for your reply,
Are these the same duplicates that downloaded last time? If so, that may be the reason that they can't be matched this time.
Since this is happening in the Mac file, but not the Windows file, I suspect the issue is more likely to be a file issue than an issue with the data being sent. To test that, if you haven't already done so, please backup your Quicken file, deactivate the problem account, then navigate to Accounts>Add Account… and add the account as a new account instead of linking to the existing.
Once you have the account added as new, monitor to see if the issue is resolved in the new account register.
Please let me know how it goes!

You know, @Quicken Kristina , I wish I knew. I can tell you that first time there were about 50. Never happened before so did not pay close enough attention. Second time there were 30. Now 15 this month. They are all 3 months of 5 credit card payments. Feb - May. So they likely are some of the last 30, but I cannot confirm that for sure.
Last time they did match. None do now.
Tell me more about adding the account new again. Do I get ALL of my history with all of the category edits, etc? Do I then have issues paying bill or having this as the bill paying account for many of the Online Bills? What are the risks and issues doing this?
I'd want to evaluate the pain points before trying it.
And then. might get immediate dupes or m,ight not until mid September.

Thank you for your reply,
You should not lose any data, provided that you make a backup of your file prior to deactivating/adding as new and you do not delete the old account. Adding the account as new should allow it to download however much history the financial institution makes available. Since you're still downloading into the same file, any rules and memorized payees should still apply.
If everything works properly in the account you added as new, then you should be able to backup your file and copy/paste any missing history from the old account into the new one.
Thank you!

Interesting.
I shall wait to see if it happens again, Kristina. If not, all good. If so, definitely worth a try.

Just a bump to keep the thread open as next two weeks should tell if there will be more dupes.

Finger crossed, but no dupes in September so far. I'll let the account period close (I think on the 4th?) and if none then I think this has corrected itself.

Thank you for the follow-up,
I'm glad to hear it's behaving so far.
Please let me know how it goes!
