My Quicken reports have different balances than the General Ledger. The GL is correct!!

I use Windows Quicken Home and Business for a small non profit. I am doing reports, and the Quicken balances are correct; however, when I print out a year over year Balance Sheet, the report numbers are incorrect for one account. Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

Should I uninstall and reinstall the software?

Thank you for your help. Betty B.

For the incorrect account, are there any transactions in the account register that are after the ending date of the report?

When was the account last reconciled? When you look back at the prior month-end in the account, did that match the statement?

    Hello @Doubleb,

Thanks for reaching out. When reports in Quicken show different balances than the register, it’s usually related to report settings rather than a software issue. Some things to check include:

    • Date ranges: Make sure the report’s date range matches the register period exactly.
    • Account filters: Verify the report includes the correct account(s) and that none are accidentally excluded.
    • Categories: If you’re using categories, check whether the report is filtered by them.

If you’ve verified the settings and still see differences, consider running a test report for that single account with all options set to include everything—this often helps pinpoint what’s causing the mismatch.

    Hope this helps!
