2nd Deposit account in paycheck is posting incorrect amount

I have my paycheck split between two accounts. A fixed amount goes into one checking account for household expenses, and the remaining amount goes into a general checking account. I've been doing this now for 12+ years with no issues.

Starting about a month ago, when viewing the projected balances screen for my household expenses account, I suddenly noticed that the balance was going negative. Looking at my paycheck, the amount being deposited was suddenly incorrect. When I opened the edit paycheck window, I noticed that the amount being deposited match a random entry on my paycheck, and not the amount I have entered for the deposit. If I click ok without changing anything, it fixes the projected balances, however it eventually reverts back to the random entry and it is once again incorrect.

Another thing… Normally my paycheck posts to the general checking account, and the amount I specified to be deposited into my household expenses is shown as a transfer in the split transaction screen. Now when the deposit posts, the entry is there, but the category field is blank, so the deposit is not posted to my household checking.

I tried deleting and re-posting the 2nd account transfer in my paycheck, but the problem still occurs.

Anyone else have this issue? Thanks!

    Hello @clinthg,

Thanks for the detailed explanation! To better understand what’s happening, could you please share a bit more info?

    • Where is your Quicken data file stored — on your local hard drive (C: Drive), or a cloud/external location (OneDrive, Dropbox, USB, etc.)?
    • When did you first notice this issue starting?
    • Were there any recent changes to your system or software before it began (such as updates or new installations)?

If possible, please also include a screenshot of the Edit Paycheck window and the Projected Balances view showing the incorrect amount (just be sure to hide or blur any personal info).

If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach screenshots. Alernatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you!
