Monthly Bill Reminders Skip a Month

I am having the same issue as the existing Monthly Bill Reminders Skip a Month discussion. My credit card reminders skip a month. I will fix them and then run a One Step Update and then they are incorrect again. The fix for the other discussion was to disable Sync for Mobile and Web apps but mine is already disabled.

    Hello @blzimmerman2,

    Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. To clarify, is this the discussion you're referring to?

    To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. When did you first notice this issue? You mentioned this is happening specifically with credit card reminders. Is this affecting all of them, or only some? Are these manual reminders, or are they linked to an online biller? Are the reminders set to automatically enter into the register, or be entered manually? How far in advance are they set to remind you (3 days, 7 days, a month, etc.)?

    I look forward to your response!

    I think I might have finally gotten it fixed! I have dealt with this for months, if not years, very annoying. So the AI help had me run a validation (off file tab) after saving a backup of course. Then I went to the "skipped" bills and edited and it does give the same annoying "you can't edit a bill before the most recent date" yada, yada error message, but then when I did save it (I ended up putting one day earlier in the month so it would save), the bills are now in January under due and not skipped. SO, I think that finally fixed mine, I hope it will work for you.

    I've had this same issue for well over a year. It used to only affect a single bill, but over time it's become nearly all my bills. I "Edit this instance and all future instances" to set the correct due date to the current month and the next time I start Quicken, my bills are set to the next month. I tried making a backup and then running the validation, but the very next start showed all my bills due in the following month. I've removed all "link biller" features, so now it's only a basic reminder. Very frustrating that such a simple feature is completely broken for me. Please help!

    Hello @bonesdds,

    Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To clarify, you mentioned that you unlinked to to make it a basic reminder. Did that correct the issue, or is the problem still happening?

    I look forward to your response!

    @Quicken Kristina,

    This is an ongoing issue since the September software update. There is another message board about this topic.

    I was able to correct the issue. You must use "Edit this instance" for the changes to apply correctly. It appears that the changes made using "Edit this instance and all future instances" are cumulative, moving the due date additional months ahead. Once I used "Edit this instance", the next due date applied correctly and the future dates were successfully adjusted. Everything is working again!

    It didn't work for me and I tried "Edit this instance". I don't believe anything has changed.

    @Quicken Kristina

    This is an ongoing issue since the September software update.

    There is at least one other message board about this topic and I have shared with customer service. They can't help because it's a coding problem and not a datafile issue.

    But hopefully they have added this to the long list of problems, which I know they are going through with the limited resources they have. I assume most current problems will be fixed eventually. Then there will be new problems.

    Tbh, if they actually use the product, they already know of this issue. Putting the comment on the community board is just to share with others.

    Finally got around to seeing if other people are having this issue. What the [Removed - Language] is going on.

    I'm having this very frustrating issue, as well, and it's been happening for a few months. A few weeks back, I deleted and created new bill and paycheck reminders for the ones that were problematic. That seemed to resolve things until a few days ago, as more and more of those newly-created bill reminders have started skipping the next relevant instant every time OSU runs or whenever Quicken seems to query a remote server. "Edit this and all future instances" works only until the next OSU, then they skip one or more relevant instances and throw off all the projected balances. (Most monthly reminders skip ahead by one month, but I had two monthly credit card reminders that skipped ahead three months and an annual car property tax reminder that skipped ahead one year.)

    All but one of the reminders is manual. (The new bill linkage service doesn't seem to work with any of my providers anyway, regardless of how large a national company they are.)

    Particular to paycheck reminders, the net amounts displayed in scheduled transactions and the bill and income reminder tiles are also completely screwed up after every OSU, even when created anew. "Edit this and all future instances" corrects the net amounts and each accounts' projected balance until the next OSU.

    I saw in another thread that one user may have gleaned from tech support that it's a coding issue and not anything that has to do with local data files. That could explain why running OSU—and all the attendant algorithms that run simultaneously—seems to be the instigator of the errors.

    Same thing is happening in the Mac version - after every one step update, the next scheduled paycheck reminder is skipped / pushed to the future. Getting very annoying fixing this every day.

    Since it's happening in both Windows and Mac versions of Quicken, it would seem obvious that there is some kind of bug that Q needs to fix.
