Editing a transaction displays duplicate transactions. The duplicate hides the next transaction.
I am resurrecting the closed discussion below. The problem still exists in at the end of 2025. Editing the duplicate transaction will corrupt the hidden transaction. The work around is to move to a different register and return to the original register. I showed this bug to a Quicken agent on 9/25/2025 Ticket #11968422.
While this bug does not seem to corrupt the hidden transaction unless the duplicate transaction is modified and saved. When attempting to enter the category into the duplicate, the hidden transaction category will be briefly visible. If changed, avoid changing the transaction by moving to another transaction and choosing "No" to the "Save" question.
This kind of bug undermines the credibility of the Quicken user interface and may corrupt the register if the user modifies the duplicate transaction and does not notice any inconsistencies when the transaction is saved.
I have screen shots but cannot display them in a public forum.

I posted this again because the bug was reported two years ago. In my opinion, this bug will potentially lead to users distrusting Quicken. I had a session with a support agent in September 2025 and have reported the issue through Help multiple times. I saved copies of the reports and screenshots and can make them available to Quicken support if requested.
This is an important bug because users unaware of the problem may corrupt other transactions. Instead of new features of value to niche markets, more emphasis on usability and performance issues is needed. The "Merge with Another Category" window found in the Category right mouse menu is a stunning example of an overlooked feature that is almost unusable. Why was the merge category feature not incorporated into the new Recategorize window? The category list in the old window is tiny, and the indenting is obfuscatory.
I believe that I followed the guidance and did more than necessary to report the problem. I am still waiting for a fix or a response.
