CheckPay seems to be losing checks. How to resolve?
I use CheckPay on and off for the last couple of years. Sometimes, checks get delayed by weeks. Most of the time, (80%), the checks arrive on time.
Lately, I have had checks disappearing. They never arrive at the location sent to. So I have to cancel the check (no way to do that in Quicken), call the bank for a stop pay, and reissue the check. By that time, the vendor no longer wants a check, so I have to pay using other methods.
The big backlash is that I get hit with late fees and other fees. And there is no way to "Prove" that I sent the check, to avoid the fees.
And there is no way to report this to Quicken, or the "CheckPay" vendor, so they can see what is up (and fix it). My bank has no record of the CheckPay transaction because it does not go through my bank.
CheckPay, at 80%, has become unreliable. I need 95% reliability. Is anyone else having any issues with CheckPay? How do you resolve these issues?

I know this may be of little help to you, but… I don't use Quicken CheckPay and instead pay all my bills directly with the bank/vendor. For some, I am set up for auto-pay charge to my checking account (electric and water utilities, cell phone) or credit card account (cable/internet, satellite radio, newspaper subscriptions). For all my credit card accounts, I prefer to log onto my account, download a statement, and authorize payment. (These could be set up as auto-payments as well.) For tax payments, I go through the local, state or federal systems to make ACH payments online. Last year, I had a record low of check payments: only 7 for the year! (A few contractors and gifts.) I have zero payments not received and zero late fees or problems to resolve.
I know we all use Quicken differently and you may have reasons why you need to issue payments by check; I'd just suggest you might want to look at who you're paying that way and whether alternative online payments might be able to meet your needs.

Disappointed that this question is now on page 9 of the discussions group, in three days. And no one from Quicken staff responded. I lost another check today. CheckPay is now officially unreliable and useless. I will seek other methods of getting my bills paid. Unfortunately, this means more complications and management on my end (as noted in @jacobs post), which makes the Quicken product less useful. And because I look for simplicity and uniformity, I will have to seek out other "all-in-one" solutions. I doubt there are any yet. But maybe someday.
I am surprised that there is so much "problem" activity on the discussion groups. This is an indicator that the product seems to be evolving in a chaotic manner.

Until Quicken and the new service provider they had to migrate to can iron out the wrinkles in both Quick Pay and Check Pay, I recommend falling back to a known good process that has been around for decades. Not all of the previously available functions are available or reliable at this time.

no one from Quicken staff responded.
Just FYI so you're not (even more) disappointed, this forum is not Quicken Support; it's fellow Quicken users (like me) and a handful of Quicken moderators (like Kristina above). But if you're looking for a definitive response from Quicken , calling Quicken Support is what you're likely looking for. In this case, I don't know if a call to Support will prove helpful, but I suppose if enough Check Pay customers are calling with complaints, it might get someone higher up looking at the issue.
