I have several accounts with Digital Federal Credit Union and most of them download just fine - but one savings account will not download. It used to, but stopped - perhaps when I added a new one. How do I approach fixing this?
IF there's such a limit, it's imposed by the CU, not Quicken.
How many accounts do you have with them, and what types of accounts?
Does this savings account have regular transactions posted to it?
Some banks consider accounts which haven't had transactions (other than interest deposits) in 6 months or more "dormant" and stop providing transaction downloads for them.
I've had something like that happen to me and, to prevent it from happening again, set up an automatic monthly transfer of a small amount from my checking to this savings account. Haven't had any download problems since. Is that what's happening to you?
Hello @timg2556,
We haven't heard back from you in a while. Do you still need assistance? If so, could you please provide the answers to the questions from our SuperUsers?
Check back and let us know! Thank you.
P.S. It is a fair question only because old QM2007 has an account limit of 256 (and QWin has a similar limit, at 512: https://www.quicken.com/support/size-or-capacity-limitations-quicken-data-file/ ), but I suspect that modern QMac is designed with either a very high max or no limit.
Hello again @timg2556,
Checking in once more before this thread is closed. Let us know if you still need assistance.
Thank you!
@Quicken Anja An indirect but related question is above, effectively, does QMac have a limit to the total number of accounts it can track?
@smayer97 The data file limitations article you referenced applies to both Quicken for Windows and Quicken for Mac.
There is not a separate account limit specific to Quicken for Mac. The limitations outlined in that article are applicable across both platforms.

@Quicken Anja Hmmm, I'm skeptical about that. With the SQL database used by Quicken Mac, there should not be old, hard limits on the number of records in a table. Further, there's language in that post which is specifically about Quicken Windows. For example, the reference to no limit on the number of graphs doesn't apply to Quicken Mac, because there are no separate graphs in Quicken Mac. And the reference to Paycheck Line Items refers to a Quicken Windows feature which does not exist in Quicken Mac.
That said, in the nearly 12 years that modern Quicken Mac has existed, I don't believe I have read a single report of a user running into a limit on the number of accounts, categories, stocks, or split lines, so for practical purposes — and perhaps technically as well — it seems there aren't limits on Quicken Mac data files.
@jacobs If you come across any other articles like this, feel free to send them to me via DM when you happen to run into them. There’s no need to go digging for them, but I’m happy to submit requests for review so the articles can be updated to more accurately reflect whether they apply to Quicken Windows, Quicken Mac, or both.
Thanks again for bringing that to our attention!
THERE ARE MANY!!!! The history is that most quicken articles were written with a Windows bias, often overlooking or ignoring the Mac version differences. So, we know from expereince that if no platform is mentioned, more often than not, it is specific to Windows.
Thank you for your reply,
When I come across articles like that, I submit content requests to get them corrected. Are there any you've encountered recently? If so, please DM me the links, and I can get requests submitted.
