Scrolling - odd behavior

When I scroll my mouse in the register, it doesn't keep scrolling. It jumps back to the transaction it was on. It's odd and I tried two separate mouses. I am not having this problem with any other program on Windows 11 so isolated to Quicken.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I updated Quicken this morning.

When did this issue first start occurring?

My file directory is the same as you have except for User, mine says "david"

No troubleshooting. but I think it started after the last Quicken update.

I was trying to see if I am the only one this is affecting as it's a strange behavior.

To start with, I suggest uninstalling/reinstalling Quicken. Please refer to the following support articles for instructions on uninstalling here and reinstalling here.

However, after you have uninstalled and before you proceed with reinstalling, please open your Windows File Explorer and navigate to This PC > C: Drive > Program Files (x86) and delete the folder titled "Quicken" (doing so does not affect your data files).

After you have deleted this folder, go ahead and try reinstalling.

I just reported the same behavior:

Windows 11 scrolling broken in Register. scrolling down with the mouse wheel or scroll bar slider returns to top of page instead of moving the page to expose transactions in the direction of scrolling. For example, scrolling from 1/30/2026 moves to 2/24/2026 and then back to 1/30/2026.

After more testing:

The behavior occurs when a transaction more than one page away from the end of the register is selected. Scrolling down moves the selected transaction from the top of the page to the middle of the page before jumping back to the top of the page. If no transaction is selected scrolling acts normally.

I had just installed a new version of Quicken. I believe the problem is a regression missed in testing. I believe that the problem started happening in May or before. If there is some problem in the "Program FIles (X86)" folder, it can be easily replicated. Quicken data is in a folder on the C:\ drive outside the user profile so that it can be safely backed up by IDrive without conflicting with OneDrive or Windows handling of the user profile.

My primary checking account has over 3700 transactions, going back to 2007, so anything from, say 2020, is well beyond the claimed 1-page boundary.

And I'm just not seeing this issue.

SO, it's not evident that it's a program issue, or a regression testing issue, More than anything else it looks like a defective installation issue. So try re-installing as has already been advised.

Since this problem has been evident for a while, I doubt if it could be a "defective" installation issue. Quicken has been installed multiple times in the last six weeks. When time permits, I will check for the bug a different system. I am running the most current version of Windows 11 on a capable system with a good processor and graphics card. Despite having new hardware, and possibly because of it, Quicken runs slowly.

I too am experiencing mouse scrolling with wheel when register filter is set to all dates will not move forward or backward off of displayed dates you have to use the right-hand scroll bar up or down to move thru the data. This started with Rel 68.25

I am having same problem, that started with latest update (R68.25) it is very annoying and I don't thin uninstallng and reinstalling is the right answer! My install has been working fine until this update. Please find a better solution.

I agree - I haven't tried uninstalling or installing but in the 30 years I have been using Quicken, that was never the solution to a problem.

Just for grins, i tried uninstalling and reinstalling…..It worked for me.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Quicken B78.9. The problem appears to have gone away. This does not get the development team off the hook. Perhaps an obsolete dll was left behind by a recent update and remained in use.
