What is going on with Valic. It used to work fine but haven't been able to download since August

Now Valic says they no longer will support Quicken. Maybe because of the Exquifax data breach

If you talked to VALIC and they say they are no longer supporting Quicken, then there's not much your fellow Quicken users can add here. You might want to find a financial forum on which to ask that question.

The current QM2017 fidir.txt file has this entry for Valic:
    09880	09880	09880	VALIC	http://www.valic.com	1-800-448-2542
    http://www.valic.com ACTIVE
    ACCOUNTINFO,INVESTMENT,401K&DIRECT
    NOT_QBP NA
Which shows Valic supporting the Direct Connect download method.

Now, the question is, which information is correct?  I'd check with Valic again to see if you get the same response from a different support person.

It is on your local harddrive and is very probably hidden, so you have to tell your OS to show hidden files.

It just means that Quicken thinks that VALIC supports Direct Connect and is active. You can tell the same thing by attempting to set up a new account and see what connection options are not grayed out. If VALIC has turned it off on their end, it might take Quicken a while to catch up with the fact that they've stopped supporting.

I agree with splasher... call them again and see if you get the same answer. Maybe ask to talk to a supervisor.

After over a month, it's finally working for me! Used all caps for my login, but not sure if that made any difference.

Actually, on Quicken Mac it isn't particularly hidden. It's in the same Quicken folder as your data file, if you haven't moved your data file from its default location:
Macintosh HD > Users > [your user account] > Application Services > Quicken
Inside this Quicken folder, are folders for Documents (your live data file or files, Backups, and Downloads. In that Downloads folder is where you'll find the fidir.txt file.
