Click on the main Investing heading in the left sidebar. Click on the Portfolio button at the top of the main window.I am looking for Internal Rate of Return reports that can customize to dates, accounts, and securities.
Now set the first filter (under the graph) to Performance. Set the second filter to Group by Security or Group by Account as you prefer.
Now, customize the columns in the view by clicking on the Columns icon on the right side of the menu bar (to the right of the filters). You can select IRR and ROI for YTD, 1-, 3- or 5-years. (I don't believe there's a way to have it calculated IRR for a custom date range.)
This one is easy: while on any Portfolio view, on the right side of the main screen, just under the Market Value total, there's a "Price and Holdings as of" box where you can enter a date or use a calendar to enter a date; the Portfolio will redisplay as of that date -- just as you could do in Quicken 2007.I am looking for the capability to see portfolio balances on specific dates
This one is not as easy as it was in Quicken 2007. You can view and edit prices by going into each security, but not from the Portfolio view. (Entering from the Portfolio screen is a fairly frequent customer request. I encourage you to view this thread and cast your vote for this feature by finding the blue box under the first post, and clicking the little gray arrow under the vote counter to add your vote.)I am looking to find and edit security prices.
Back to the matter at hand… Select Window > Securities. Double-click (or single click and then click the pencil icon) on a security for which you'd like to view or edit prices. In the security window, click on the Price History tab. Here, you see the table of all recorded price history. You can enter new prices manually at the top. You only need to enter a Date and Closing Price; all the other fields are optional.
This should be pretty easy to accomplish. In the Reports menu, select Create Comparison Report. Select Rows=Category. Click next and then select two time periods you want to compare, either using built-in ranges (Last Year, Year to Date, etc.) or your own custom dates. Now you can further customize the report to include selected accounts and/or categories.I am looking to create customized comparison spending reports, customized by category and time as well as time intervals.
A different variation is if you want to compare categories over a larger number of regular intervals, like months, quarters or years. For that, you could use Create Summary Report. Select Rows-Category. Select Columns=Time. Select Interval=Year or Quarter or Month or one of the other options offered. then click Continue to Customize, and again here you can select specific accounts or categories. After you generate the report, you can experiment with changing any of those settings above the column headings.
It still doesn't allow you to create every report you could in Quicken 2007, but there is a lot of flexibility in what you can create.Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19936 -

Is there a way to import transactions from my 2007 file into my new existing 2019 file?Yes, simply keep the destination file open then import QM2007 data file...it will be merged into the destination file. If there are accounts with the same name, it will create duplicate accounts which you would need to merge manually (highlight all then click and drag from one account to the other - does NOT work with investment accounts).TIPS:- you may trim the original file by either deleting accounts or perform a Save a Copy to trim by date.- be sure to have backups of your files just in case something does not go as planned.Have Questions? Quicken 2007, as you likely know, is no longer supported software. I've also run into the full transaction file problem. You either have to delete transactions manually or use Save a Copy to exclude transactions older than a certain date. But trying to hold onto Quicken 2007 with your data split into two files is probably not the best option for most users.
Quicken 2019 has lots of reports, although not as many as Quicken 2007, and the new-generation of reports which is being developed to replace the original reports are fairly significantly customizable. There currently aren't pre-defined reports for investments, but you can in many cases create the report you want by manipulating the filters and views to get the data you want onscreen, and then print it. While it may lack certain features you would find desirable, or perhaps necessary, it is hardly "useless" to most people.

I am looking to be able to do a couple things.

I am looking to find and edit security prices.
I am looking to create customized comparison spending reports, customized by category and time as well as time intervals.
These are a few things from 2007 that I have not been able to find yet on 2019.
If you can assist with these things I would be thrilled.
