You haven't stated what fails.  As in error messages and such.

Please elaborate on the exact issue or error so that someone can help you.  I have been running Quicken on Win11 since approx 9 months ago without an issue, and so have many others.  Win11 is no different than Win10 when it comes to running programs - in case you are interested: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/compatibility/windows-11/
That being said, I have run into Win10>Win11 upgrade issues couple of times.  But that has nothing to do with Quicken, rather Microsoft upgrade process.  My workaround in those two cases were to reinstall Win11 from scratch.

    Hi @x89 ,

    See this Faq:  https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7307115/add-your-quicken-information-to-your-posts-plus-how-you-are-connected-to-the-internet

Are you using the Anti-Virus that came with Windows 11?

No current Windows data file involved. Quicken simply crashes on on Start.

Indeed task manager reports Quicken as a background process not an active app.

That doesn't sound like Quicken crashed, it sounds like Quicken has opened on a display that isn't visible.
Do you see the Quicken icon in the task bar?

I have R38.30 that works fine on Win11 build 22000.588 (latest). However the R39.23 update hangs on xmllite64.dll and will not go any further.

    All I have quicken R39.23 running now on Win 11 R 22000.556
    Here are the steps:

Go into Windows Defender Virus and Threat Protection.
    Go into Ransom Ware Protection
    Turn on Controlled Folder Access
Click on allow an app through controlled folder access
Add qw.exe to the list from C:\Program Files (x86)\Quicken
And as Jerry used to say Bob's your uncle!

Your problem seems completely different from the one posted in this thread.  You should start your own question by selecting New Post from the upper right of this page, and give as much details as you can.

I'm glad that you found the solution to your problem.  I keep forgetting to warn people about the Controlled Folder Access.  Quicken's default place for the Quicken data file is in Documents\Quicken, which means that Quicken does have to be on the exception list if this is turned on.

Personally, I use OneDrive to backup my data files including my Documents folder and Quicken and "cloud folders" don't get along (it is recommended that you don't store your data file in such a folder).  So, I have my data files in a C:\Quicken folder.

At the time of the blockage of qw.exe controlled folder was NOT turned on. Defender itself was blocking dlls in Quicken. By turning on Controlled Folder access I was able to control Defender's behavior.

Interesting.  That is the first I have ever heard of Defender blocking Quicken's program files.
