Ditto. Maybe it's their maintenance day.

I am also getting the OL-292 problem; it is Wells Fargo's problem as I can not download my transactions from the bank either. If it is maintenance I wish Wells Fargo would notify its clients when they are doing maintenance problems so we do not have to waste our time blogging about this bank.

  • Per Wells Fargo Rep: they're having issues with the ir sustem. Their specialists are working to resolve the problem. Please try downloading again in 24-48 hours.

That is my assumption. As I'd stated earlier, these QWin error codes (OL-292, OL-293 and OL-294) generally indicate that the financial institution (FI) is either having an issue with their server or they have shut off or restricted access to their server. Usually, when these error codes come up on a weekend it indicates that the FI is doing system maintenance/repairs and when that is completed they will restore the access. When Wells Fargo will complete their system maintenance/repairs is unknown. It could be in a few minutes or it might not be until Monday morning….but it will probably be somewhere in between these extremes.

Quicken usually connects to FIs differently from the way we do. Often times, we will be able to log into our online accounts even when the FI restricts access by Quicken (and other 3rd party softwares).

Generally, the only thing that we can do is to wait for Wells Fargo to complete their system maintenance/repairs….or to try manually downloading via Web Connect if we decide for some reason that we can't or don't want to wait.

Let's see what the Moderators come back with but I'm betting it's a WF system maintenance/repair issue.

    https://discernreport.com/wells-fargo-customers-have-incorrect-balances-and-missing-transactions-due-to-an-absolutely-massive-nationwide-computer-glitch/

Wells Fargo experienced an unprecedented nationwide computer glitch that caused countless numbers of account holders to have “incorrect balances” and “missing transactions”.

Bank spokesman Josh Dunn did not say how many customers were impacted by the problem and did not provide a time when customers can expect the issue to be resolved. But he said Wells Fargo was “working quickly on a resolution.” As of 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dunn could not say when the problem would be resolved.

Wells Fargo promised to fix by Saturday a nationwide computer glitch that left irate customers with incorrect — and sometimes negative — balances and missing transactions, according to a spokesman. It will also refund fees customers incurred because of the issue.

As follow-on to my last post, here is some additional information regarding these error codes. This was taken from a file I had downloaded from Intuit several years ago (when Intuit still owned Quicken) but I think the basic information still applies to today.

Anyone having an issue with downloading Wells Fargo transactions? I get "an error has occurred", but no error description and One Step Update Summary shows no error occurring. Weird.

I just tried the bank dot com website. I didn't have any problems using it. [Removed-Speculation]. My internet provider knows in about 5 seconds if my service has gone down, I don't have to call them. Quicken should be testing all of their links constantly 24/7.

I get this when tryng to update Wells Fargo accounts.

There was an unknown error trying to update this connection. Please try again later. (Error Code: 16503)

    Any ideas?

As mentioned several times in this thread, WF is having a server issue. Until WF resolves it there is nothing that can be done to workaround this Direct Connect download issue.

One thing you can do if you cannot wait for WF to fix the issue is to log into your WF account and try to manually download the transactions in QFX (or “Quicken”) format. Then manually import that file into Quicken.

I am also getting the OL-292-B error on my Wells Fargo Accounts (2 accounts).

    3/11/2023 9:00PM Eastern.

  • I would not be surprised to hear that Wells Fargo is having some major problems &/or undergoing some major repairs to their electronic interfaces with their customers. The news yesterday (3/10) was all atwitter with complaints that peoples automatic deposits, payroll checks, etc., etc, which should have been posted Friday morning were NOT showing on their accounts, causing some customers to be showing as overdrawn due to automatic payments that DID post. Wells Fargo was quoted as saying they had some "digital issues" and that things should be restored "by Saturday" with no overdraft fees levied. For my part, my balances look fine online (phone App), but I too am getting the 292-B error code when I try to update my Quicken WF accounts.
