Quicken opens blank screen
When I start Quicken, a window pops up with no text in the title bar, and the rest of the window is plain white. Clicking the minimize and close buttons has no effect. After a minute or so, a smaller window pops up saying "The application is not responding." A screenshot is attached.
How can I get Quicken to open properly?
While the blank window is open, I can't start other applications, and I can't run a search in Google Chrome. If I click 'End Process', the window disappears a minute or so later. After the blank window finally disappears, the other applications start and search runs.
This behavior started immediately after the most recent automatic update of Quicken.
I'm using Quicken Premier on Windows 8.1. I have an active subscription. The qw.exe file has file version 27.1.48.9 and product version 27.1.48.9.

I am getting the very same issues with Quicken Deluxe. Long time loading, white screen, other programs will not load. After Quicken opens, everything seems to work fine. Only happens when loading the program.

I have exactly the same blank window problem in Quicken Starter Edition. It takes about 4-5 minutes to load then works fine. I've tried Validate, Super Validate, uninstalling and reinstalling Quicken. Nothing fixed it.

P.S. If I wait about five minutes, the blank screen changes to the normal Quicken home screen.
I re-installed Quicken, by running a Quicken.exe file which I downloaded from the Quicken 'My Account' website. The Quicken.exe installer file has file version 4.0.100.1190 and product version 27.1.47.15. After installation, the qw.exe file appeared unchanged, with an old date modified and the same file version and product version 27.1.48.9.
Next, when I started Quicken it demanded I create an ID or sign in. I signed in and clicked 'Done' in the subsequent 'Welcome' screen. The normal Quicken home screen appeared. I closed the window. Here are screenshots, with my personal information redacted.
This had no evident effect on Quicken's behavior. It still opens a blank screen and other applications won't start; after a few minutes it changes to the home screen.

Likely difficult to navigate to help and report the issue if all you have is a blank screen! Fortunately, I do not have the issue. If it helps, I am Home and Business. Not sure if all versions are affected.

Quicken just updated itself, and its behavior has changed slightly. Now, it shows the blank screen (as before) for a minute or two, and then the screen changes to the attached image. After another minute or two, it shows the home screen and behaves properly. I still can't start other applications, while this is going on.
The qw.exe file has file version 27.1.48.15 and product version 27.1.48.15.0 -
I'm having exactly the same issue since one of the recent Quicken updates. In my case, it's taking approximately 4 minutes for Quicken to load and allow normal operatons on the PC, Needless to say, this needs to be fixed ASAP.

This problem is solved, from my point of view. Quicken now takes about 6 seconds to start, and during this time I can start other applications. I suppose I have the latest version, since I subscribe to automatic updates. Oddly, it appears none of the files in the folder with qw.exe have been modified since 3/24/2023 (when I was still experiencing this problem).0
